Tron Tavern, Edinburghback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
What can I say? One lager on tap - flat and warm. No atmosphere, sticky floor, bar and tables. I was disappointed as it was the worst pub by far I have visited on my trips to Edinburgh and in such a great location too!
The downstairs was a bit smelly, follow the smell to the toilets which had no loo roll and no soap, not much to ask.
Felt like a proper chain pub but worse, it was a Saturday night but poor show!

Nice lay-out, but quite a lot of weirdos around. Maybe it was because of St Paddy's.. Besides that I had an enjoyable night.
|
I don't much like chain pubs, but I have to make an exception for this one. Great music policy, very spacious, well located, good studenty and local clientele.

You have got to love the tron!! A great place to start the night or booze the night away. Relaxed atmospher, lots of room and cheap booze - anyone can get a yellow card!
|
Great place, especially on a yellow card! Underground and lovely in that it's out of the way. Not too many tourists I found, and enough students without being clogging.
|
In there the other night, One nice barman one horrible barman, the prices changed each time we got a pint! from different barmen, but hey we were the tourists otherwise ok.
|
I think the Tron does have some bad points. If you don't have a yellow card (all non-students) pints of Guinness are a staggering 2.85. That's pretty expensive for somewhere trying to be a laidback pub.
It's also always very busy with bouncers on the door. I don't equate that with being chilled out as such.
