Park Gate Inn, Hollingbourneback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Called in on an early Sunday evening after visiting nearby Leeds Castle. Now we weren't expecting too much after reading the last two reviews but all was well with service, drinks and food, including the roast beef. And they now leave the sauces selection on the table so maybe they've listened to the customers. While not outstanding, all in all a perfectly acceptable experience for a chain pub.

Today was the family reunion. We had organised the bash this year. Bearing in mind the good experiences we'd had at the Park Gate Hotel in the past, and also bearing in mind the place's location we felt that it would make the ideal venue. If nothing else today served as an example of how fast pubs can change. With sour ale and a two hour wait for rather small portions of frankly average food I felt embarrassed to have suggested we used the place. We complained about the wait and was politely told that the problem was we ordered after other people; the implication being that if you order atfer mid day you expect to wait for two hours.

Staff were chatty... to each other. They were more interested in organising their night out than serving any customers and insisting on serving their friends first. Pub needs a lot of maintenance. Garden is a mess, with fag butts and dog poo everywhere. Food is obviously from packets and then microwaved. Sauces were brought to us in pots on a tray and we were told to hand them back as soon as we had spooned a small amount onto our plates as they were to be used on other tables. Cutlery wasn't clean and neither were the glasses. This place is typical of a pub in the "Vintage Inn" chain.

GREAT SERVICE - NEW MENU HAS OME GOOD DISHES ON GOOD SELECTION OF BEERS AND RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO A CRACKING 9 HOLE GOLF COURSE - LEEDS CASTLE - WHAT MORE CAN A MAN NEED???

Food good. Beer kept well, but very ubiquitous selection.

Quality selection of wines and an excellent menu. Will be nice in the summer with its beer garden, although it is right next to the main road.
