Bland. Disappointing range of beers and ambience for an Antic pub.

This ominous beast of a pub is best avoided. Mostly empty, the folk that do drink here never appear to be having a very good time of it, not during the week, at least – it could be a different matter come the weekend. One is not made to feel in any way welcome, and the lack of lighting out the front just adds to the sense of menace that pervades throughout. Reasonably priced, though. 3/10

Popped in for a swift half before the Millwall v Charlton game, nice enough place and not to busy considering Millwall had their best crowd for 10 years, no real ale though.

Looks like a pub for the locals, many a overweight family smoking in front of their children on the outside drinking strong lager.
Personally I think this type of place is best avoided.

I used to drink here everyday until i moved away from the area. The beer is well priced & the food is of excellent quality with a nice variety to choose from. Karaoke is a MUST here and if your lucky enough you will get to see the Manager - Martin singing "I predict a diet"!! Nothing but good times here, i miss it!!

Great venue, location, manager, food and friendly staff. Plasma TV, Pool and reasonably priced drinks. Good entertainment from Thursday night throughout the weekend from Kareoke on a Thursday a DJ on Saturday and live band in the offing. Quite simply a great boozer!
|
Average boozer, nothing special about it. Always empty when I go there, which is mainly late afternoon. Pub for having 1 or 2 in before you go somewhere better.

Large-ish and surprisingly well-refurbished pub close to Bermondsey underground station. Had two real ales on which is at least one more than I was expecting.
|
Good pub with range of real ales. Didn't notice the barmaid's bra size!

Having never been in here before and noticing that they've recently had a refurbishment my partner and I decided to pop in and check it out. Huge mistake! I approached the bar as my partner nipped off to the loo and was faced with a staggering and obviously very drunken barmaid. I ordered a single half of lager to facilitate a quick departure and hopefully remain in one piece. The barmaid leaned towards me........."Is your friend not drinking, then?" I said that my friend was not drinking, just me. The barmaid then got aggressive and lowered her voice - "You've got to have a drink, can't come in here and not have a drink - hic!" I reluctantly ordered a second half of lager which we very pointedly left untouched on the table as we legged it about 5 mins later. The barmaid was sat behind the bar guzzling more white wine and glaring at us as we departed. We won't be going back!!

Thought I'd already posted this, but looks like it didn't go through. The Gregorian is open again.
|
It's being refurbished at the moment, should be open again at the end of August or beginning of September according to the builders.

had a swift one in there the other day... can't knock it... loads of charecter, reasonablely priced and the barmaid had the worlds biggest tits!!!!

When watching football in a pub a lot of people forget (or don't realise) that Sky is based on the pubs rateable value so for a pub of this size it would be about 800 a month which means a lot of bums on seats drinking (look out for the "BUG" which is the pint glass shaped thing in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, if it's there its a legit business, therefore expensive and legal account, not a personal one), so I can understand the owner/manager getting annoyed when someone sits down and drinks slowly!
REMEMBER its a game of two halves, not a game of two halfs!!

Just been recently taken over and what a difference! The outside is tidy, glasses are collected when empty and the staff are friendly and quick. They also have FREE wireless internet access so you can surf the web whilst having a drink via your own laptop, how cool is that.

A large pub on the corner of St James' road just down from the Tube station. Has a pool table and a dart board. Good place to wait for someone coming by tube...
