Superb pub, lovely atmosphere and great choice of quality ales, many from micro breweries. It was our first time here and we look forward to another visit soon. It was an Lacons pub so look for the Falcon brewery glazing.

I agree with last comment. Great architectural building (see photos). Long narrow pub due to its wedge shape with comfortable seating at one end and pool table at the other with wall seating adjacent to bar too. Had Mauldons - Broomstick Bitter and Westgate(Greene King) - Ghastly Ghoul on my visit. Both well kept.

A wonderful building inside and out, full of charm and interest. A good range of beers served by a very knowledgeable Landlord. Comfortable and fascinating. This really is worth a trip.

I've had many enjoyable holidays in East Norfolk; the local beer (Woodforde's, Humpty Dumpty, Yarmouth etc) is a major attraction, and the New Ent. has been high on my 'must visit' list since I discovered it in the 90's. A good traditional boozer with a great choice of real ales, comfy & welcoming. I'm not one for staying in the same pub for hours, especially if it's fine cycling weather, but this place almost makes me wish for torrential rain to keep me inside!

Good pub, plenty of good ales.Landlord was very friendly and the locals were too.Went in there with my Dad and brothers for a pre wet before going up town but stayed in the pub most of the night as the atmosphere was great.

I instantly fell deeply in love with this pub. It is shaped like an ocean liner( Geldeston is a small port). They have seven real ales at weekends and about five on during the midweek period.I tried Swallowtail fromHumpty Dumpty Brewery and congratulated myself on an excellent choice. I had a long chat with the guvnor who has undertaken extensive research of the pubs chequered history. The pub is a 1950's timewarp, only a large television and extractor fan intrude.I spent far to long in here, time has no meaning, it is so comfy and soporific that I had to drag myself away ( any remake of the Iceman Cometh would do well to use the place). The regulars were almost drinking Real Ale to a man, the guvnor admitted that at least half of his trade was Real Ale.Look out for Lacon Brewery signs ( windows, brickwork etc) the rounded end of the pub advertises Woodfordes, Iceni and many other brewers.totally unique in every way.10/10 at least!

Popped in here on a Sunday afternoon and it was very quiet which left it a little short of atmosphere but it was friendly and comfortable. However, it was quick an interesting pub in a fork in the road. Pool table at one end, the bar along one side and arm chairs, fireplace and libary area at the other end. Landlord was friendly and there was a good range of beer. Everards Tiger, Cottage SS Great Britain, Adnams Braodside, Courage Best and Greede King IPA were available on my visit. The large number of pump clips on the walls suggest that they have regularly changing beers.

Only GBG pub currently in Gorleston. Open plan long narrow pub with interesting curve to one end. To one end there is a fire place, local pictures, mirror, TV and a book lending library. The interesting curved end houses the pool table. Seven hand pumps but five in action on Sundays visit; GK IPA, Tiger, Cottage SS Great Britain, Broadside & Courage Best. The only permanent beer is GK's IPA all the others regularly change.

A classic pub. It stands out as a period gem amongst the undistinguished buildings around it. LOts of old, dark wood and original features. Has a great relaxing atmosphere; you won't want to leave. But beware, there are no pavements around this pub, you step out straight onto the road, so don't get too p***ed!
