The white horse has a full selection of white water beers (5 on tap & clotworthy dobin in bottle) aswell as guests ales. The atmosphere is welcoming, a blazing fire in the corner & knowledgeable staff who can tell you what you would prefer. Food is fantastic for a reasonable price. A great pub.

After visiting the splendidly located Daft Eddy's on Sketrick Island, we moved on to the White Horse (the Whitewater Brewery tap) in Saintfield. Only 2 Whitewater beers were on - Belfast Ale & Copperhead Ale. They also had Traditional Scottish Ales Stirling Bitter. The bar itself is rather atmospheric, if not a little dingy. It is spread over multiple levels. Service was a little lacking, especially in the communication department. The barmaid asked if I wanted ice with the bottled soft drink I had ordered (yes, unfortunately I was driving), I asked if the bottle was off the shelf or from the fridge. She pointed at the ice and said yes it was from the fridge. Well the bottle was presented at room temperature, meaning we were talking at complete cross purposes. Why would I ask if ice was from the fridge? An interesting conversation and a nice enough pub in a small town.

Is there a better selection of ales on sale anywhere else in Co Down...I doubt it!!
A very clean friendly bar!

Love the bar, friendly staff, friendly customers. Their live music is also very good, having live bands every week or two.
Definetly coming back.

Great meal in this pub tonight. Locals made us really welcome and child-friendly too (high chairs, nappy changing, healthy kids options) Real ale brewed locally on tap, they have signs up for live music nights with really good bands. Service great. We will be back!!

Good dcor. Customers rather unwelcoming. Have been known to stare at strangers. Which can fell rather threatening in a new place. Lots of staff but I found it rather hard to get a drink and many people getting served be 4 me. Nice bar but if they dont know you they wont make you welcome.

rather busy pub with a good selection of real ales - which is unusual for these parts. "she" says that the food is good but it does get busy
