The Golden Farmer has had an extensive refurbishment and now looks great! The staff are friendly and efficient and the food menu is extensive and very reasonably priced. They serve a well kept pint of Abbot and Green King IPA and the beer prices in general must be the cheapest in the area. A very pleasant surprise! I think this has helped attract a very wide age group which creates a pleasant atmosphere.
Definately worth a try!

Popped in for lunch yesterday. I had heard reports that the pub had changed and was making a real effort. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and efficient, the ale was well kept and well priced. The menu was varied and cheap. I had rump steak, egg and chips. The steak was the best cheap steak I've had for years, it was cooked exactly how I asked and even the egg was cooked just right.

The fences are down and the pub is open again. Haven't visited since it reopened so can't comment on changes - yet!

Cant review it as yet, but its opening on Friday 14th.....so will keep you posted

This pub has been closed for the past couple of months, surrounded by a temprary fence - banners indicate it's under renovation and will be reopening. Here's hoping they do a good job, Bracknell really does need some good pubs!

Was a fantastic place to be. Lost all its charm when Greene King sold it off and Shawn and Dawn left. Did they take all the decent customers with them i wonder. Had some great nights there and some great afternoons too. RIP the Golden Farmer

Dont bother. Seriously, just dont bother. Unless of course you are conducting a sociological study into the pondlife who drink in this hell hole. They are like parodies of themselves, and the pub itself has all the welcome and charm of 'The Slaughterd Lamb' in 'American Werewolf in London' although without the range of real ales of course. If you enjoy drinking amid a feeling of surpessed violence, and amongst people who consider anyone who can write their own name as a 'ponce' then TGF could be the pub of your dreams. Otherwise, it's a waking urban nightmare, stalked by all the most horrendous chavvy urban ghoulish characters you can imagine. And that's just the ladies.

Was a great pub while S & D were there....gone downhill since they left. All the old regular faces gone. New customers are chavs. Want Sean and Dawn back please.
