Ignore some of the other comments! We used the upstairs function room in the pub for a funeral tea at the beginning of February 2011, and asked Kelly, Nick and co to do the catering, and run a bar for teas, coffees and other drinks. They put on a magnificent spread, lots of variety and more than enough for friends and family showing their respects. We were looking for a venue within easy walking distance of St.Mary's church in the centre of Walton, where the funeral was held. The staff were very friendly and certainly welcomed us. Unlike some local venues, we found them welcoming to the children in our family party. I'd certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a Walton town centre function room.

Apart from the landlady being constantly drunk, shouting and swearing at some of the customers, its a fun place for a pint

Been taken over and things are looking good - new tv's, juke box, live music, sky, real ale back on, i'm back as a regular :-)
|
Went in here for a couple after work when I was watching the match.
Nice big screen and friendly service, he bought my drinks and change out to me as I was sitting. What more could you ask?

What a rotten, decrepit old boozer.

Had a fantastic evening in the Wellington last Saturday. Free live music by a guy called "Flick" who was brilliant. Not enough pubs in this area have live music and with no on the door charge. Keep it up Wellington - we'll certainly be back!

Trying to be a gastro pub with fancy menus and over priced basic food but unfortunately nothing on the menu is available. Get a grip and go back to basics, this is Walton
|
Pretty basic; nothing special. Small pub, but you can sit at the window and watch the action on the High Street.
|
Surprisingly small pub, which looks a lot bigger from the outside. However, it's clean, choice of drinks is high, the pubs has a pool table and plasma TV, and the service is very friendly. There isn't really much more that can be said - probably the best pub in Walton high street area, but competition is poor. Get down to the river!

Vast improvement since refurbishment. Better seating layout, good atmosphere the few times I've popped in. Before it was as if you were walking into someone's front room, but not any more. Looks like they have closed the Thai kitchen and are opening some sort of Deli bar instead, could be interesting to see...

I have been drinking on/off at the Wellington for a few years now. It was a good pub in need of a makeover. With the recent refurbishmentit went from OK to GREAT (has become our favourite in the area and haven't been anywhere else since it reopened) Rob is right no under 18 in here (thanks god!) who wants to drink in a pub full of drunk teenies? It isn't full of old peole ether ( we are in our mid-latetwenties) but again this may seem old for teenagers. Our veredict: great pub, friendly staff great beer and snacks.

Recently refurbished. However, within 2 days - the horrid smell was back and the beer was worse than ever.
Eddie - you've seen people under 18 in here?? strange, I never have!

Great pub, good night out. very good food. Staff are execllent
|
On recent visits the draught has been very poor - and the service has left a lot to be desired too. This place has so much potential - landlords report card: must do better.

Love this pub. It's somewhere where I'm happy to sit and drink at any time of day.
This pub is popular with twenty-somethings (Spence - you saw OLD people?) and is well equipt with a large TV screen. Drinks are reasonably priced and there's a restaurant in back.

Been here a few times. Full of old people, small little pub, You need a 2 inch Pool cue to play cos the table is so near the walls.
absolute rubbish!
