Kevin is a good Landlord, though bitter choice is uninspired. Guinness is top notch, and a good quiz night on a monday. Friendly staff. Great locals boozer

Pretty good for watching football at, despite being a Reds pub! As Scottie says, Kevin the landlord is giving it a go with real ales. Apart from Boddingtons, only ever seems to have one of the two real ale pumps on, whic is usually something quite unusual, but of an average quality and not particularly interesting to taste.

The new landlord was giving it a go, but unfortunately keeps running out of proper beer on my last few visits This doesn't affect the football shirts that frequent this very average boozer (they drink carling or magners)

Not bad. New landlord is giving real ale a go. Miles better than the sadly going downhill Beech over the road Always busy. They have massive screens for the footy (not a good thing in my view)
|
not too bad - plenty of other nicer places there. One for Chorlton born and bred locals, not the new Chorlton types

Nice place compared to the crap over the road (BEECH!!) Gets packed during footy matches, good bar staff. Good beer. Strange place to have the Gents though. Its a great place for a rainy day.

Great pub, famed for being home of famous lookalikes!! Look out for Matthew Kelly behind the bar, great if your pissed and want a laugh!

I have only been in this pub a few times. It's only downside is that it's quite small and gets very squashed, and also that it is very close to the Horse & Jockey (see notes). They do good beer but you do need to get in early if you don't want to stand up all night. The 'Charlatan's' have been known to drink in here in the past. Very small beer garden. Almost like a back yard.
