A lovely local pub. Everyone is very welcoming if you are new to the pub or area. Great food with very generous portions, a good value for money. The staff are friendly welcoming faces and offer a great service to all the customers. I would recommend this pub if you are looking for a warm friendly environment.

Fantastic proper local village pub! Great food, big portions for the money! You feel like a regular after a few visits. The staff are lovely and management excellent! Love this pub. Would recommend their Sunday roast to everyone.

nothing changed from my previous comment, don't like pubs where you can't see in, bit of a lottery walking in through the door not knowing what you are going to meet. Either a friendly landlord or several pairs of local eyes glaring at you suspiciously.

My Wife and I have used this Pub several times for the FANTASTIC Sunday roast - we think its great.

i agree with the locals staring as you enter, although i was with a mate who knew a few so i was ok!

You can change the management but more difficult to change the clientele. Locals extremely unfriendly, when I asked one for a light he just stared and said NO. Very strange, run down scruffy pub where you get glared at on entry. Would not recommend.

I love this pub and have done for years. Its the sort of place where after a couple of visits your a regular. People of all different ages are friends together and the managers are great fun.

We just came back from The Sun this evening. I asked for a cup of tea and took it outside to drink, where it was dark, so didn't notice anything floating in my cup. Thought it tasted a bit bitter, but when I got to the bottom of the cup it was all sludge. Asked my husband to smell and taste the milk and it was completely rancid! Not good as I am 7 months pregnant and now wondering whether I am about to get a nasty bout of food poisoning or not.

Can't say it's a friendly pub, sort of place the locals stare at newcomers. Not exactly up-market.
