White Swan, Wickfordback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
This place use to be an decent place untill the gippos arrived, the pub got trashy and the owner put the local town bike in it (anyone know josie will know what i mean) Over run with druggies, girls in the mens and men in the girls, dirty chairs and only consiting of a chep o pool table and a washed out duke box, id give this place a wide birth. Unless you like roughing in.

brilliant dukebox, staff really nice not trying to be anything. i love the fact its a bit tatty. good times when used to live in wickford. i miss it now live in trendy london!! completly relaxed atmosphere spent 7 hours in here one tuesday night with staff listening to paul weller on duke box. brillant pub

Fond memories of this pub when i lived in Runwell (not the hospital i must add!)
Great atmosphere - i even met a chinese man called Daniel - which was nice.

9/10 (for the area)
Spent two weeks in Wickford on work (ending this week), lucky enough to have my girlfriend with me, but finding the right boozer � jeez ! Pub #1, in 30 mins we saw 2 apparent deals going down (car park, then the gents), also full of Chavs, Chavettes, even Chavlettes ! Pub #2, full of Chantelle (sp?) spotters or wannabe�s.
Swans maybe a bit tatty round the edges (just needs a lick of paint etc), but the staff are friendly and attentive, beer not half bad (well kept & served), better yet the locals are ace. Where else can you find a pub, rammed with customers around the bar area, but they make way for you when you need a refill, also don�t make you think of �Whicker Man� when you step through the door ?
As for the pool table; fair enough, there are tables near it, but I heard �excuse me mate� so many times, my reaction became �Pavlovian� � just move to the other bar, when there�s killer pool going on !
Beer; Good
Service; Ace
Food; Not bad � needs tweaking

With a shortage of Pubs in Wickford, this has to be the worst. A typical working man's pub - dull, smokey, dirty and boring. This pub will no doubt disappear when the vast Wickford Masterplan gets into action with more pubs/bars and restaurants in the area.

Yeah right!! great pub if you want to drink form a dirty glass and stick like super-glue to the filthy carpet whilst getting your head caved in with a pool cue by the local army of gippos. but then it takes all sorts!

Great pub grub served every day with a nice atmosphere. Pool Table, Jukebox (although there are djs there on some evenings), friendly staff, and you won't be spending silly money on drinks. Wednesday nights are a bit of a local tradition now for the music, although not for the dance/r'n'b fan!!!

wednesday night is the spirit of rock'n'roll in essex!
top stuff if you want to be entertained by loud guitars, noise, great crowd, beer(!), and a top atmosphere!

Great choice of beers, great entertainment with top DJ's at weekends and Wednesdays...top food served all day, car park, the lot!
