Have been to this pub for years. Staff are great to and can have a real laugh in there any night of the week.
As for racist talk....does this not happen in every pub across the country??

I went to this pub last night, because a post said it had changed and was good.
It is shabby, dirty and looks like it's not seen a paint brush in years. It still had one hand-pumped beer... yep still Courage Best.
Worst still were the loud-mouthed shaven-headed client�le: I've seen racists before many times, but I've never had them loudly brag about being arrested for racists insulting behaviour and the their mates telling exciting tales of beating up black c**ts.
Do not go to this place, leave it to the people it is designed to please, that way they won't get spooked and I'll see them somewhere else.

Almost two years since the last post - and has'nt this place changed dramatically for the better! Friendly staff, good atmosphere and beers. Very busy on our visit with a cross section of locals and visitors. Now, maybe Egham's best?

Beer is Courage Best - why? (and it's vinegary).
Place looks as though it could do with a good clean!
Landlady's a real bundle of laughs, keeps barring people for the silliest of reasons.

please,please,all you idiots in egham continue too use this shit hole and leave the crown to normal people, full of chavs,the brain dead parents and the offspring i have never never walked into such a crap hole as this before,who owns this shit hole of a pub and allows it to continue this way ?was told it was a punch lease,cant be right,unless they are desperate,poor beer,bad/rude service.do not use this pub,unless you are one of the brain dead,and stay out of the crown

Decent two bar community local. Only one ale (Courage Best - oh why oh why oh why...jesus wept).
That's it. No real reason to enter unless you feel horny drinking the Courage filth.

Possibly the most miiserable pub in Egham. Very unfriendly with spit and feathers kind of decor. The compasses is leagues ahead in real ale and environment
