It would appear to have been smartened up, and is now showing Cask Marque accreditation.
I hope to have a proper look before long.
It was a regular venue of mine a good few years back, but it wasn't much about which to shout in those days.

Don't understand the last review. We just went there for lunch and couldn't have been made more welcome or had a better time. Interesting menu, interesting beer.

Disappointed. Beer okay, average food, high prices, tatty furniture, no atmosphere, scruffy staff, overcharged. Think it must have changed hands since previous posts.

Lovely friendly pub. We came here after an unpleasant time down the road at the queens arms bosley. Such a refreshing change! Spent a lovely sunny afternoon in the garden and had a GREAT lunch. will always come here instead now.

I stopped on my cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats. Although officially they'd stopped doing food when they found out what I was doing the chef came out and I had a big plate of salad and pate... including extra bread. Had two excellent pints as well. What can you say? They'll do me...

The Fools Nook has the most pleasant atmosphere of any of the over 100 pubs which I have visited in the last 9 months. The food is terrific, but it is the people - Pat my waitress - IS THE LICENSEE! Her husband is the Chef and everyone else is part of a big happy family (maybe not so big)I do not normally have a nightcap after my evening meal, but here I had a dram of Oban just to delay my departure. Best wishes for the future to all at Fools Nook. Bob.
