Eraina Taverna, Cambridgeback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
As quite a few people have already said, this in NOT a pub. It's not really even a "Greek Taverna". But it IS a Cambridge institution, much loved by the town (if not by the tourists). The townspeople who come here come for the affordable food, the wide menu, and the absence of tourists, both foreign and domestic. It's not "fine food" but reliably edible. It has been going for longer than most people who contribute to this site have been alive, and long may it continue. (This is the only restaurant in England, I think, that has "plaice cacciatore" on the menu... how would a "hunter" be able to get a plaice?) 8/10 for what it is, but I am NOT rating it as a pub, but for its eccentric self.

The Eraina certainly isn't a pub, but rather a delightful little Greek taverna, serving a wide range of Greek and other Mediterranean dishes in sizeable portions and at very reasonable prices. It deserves to be busier than it often actually is. I always finish my meal there with a glass of Benedictine! We have been visiting the Eraina since my student days 35 years ago and I hope it sees me out! The rating below is for the quality of the RESTAURANT.

We went in here yesterday for my birthday as we'd noticed this little "Greek" restaurant years ago but always walked by. My expectations were of something akin to the standard of Greek food in Germany, where Greek Tavernas are everywhere, prices (and Ouzo) are cheap and the food is great and plentiful.
This place however, is a joke. Tatty furniture, miserable staff and a "mixed grill" comprising: 2 lightly cooked rashers of bacon, a small of piece of lambs liver, a dry sausage, a BOILED chicken leg and 5 measly chips! ("They're thickly cut," the waitress said after I complained...

This is not a pub, but a lovely old-style restaurant with 147 different dishes on the menu.

Not a pub.
One of Cambridge's more eccentric restaurants, however, and worth a look for the long menu alone. I normally drink the retsina and have the Greek food options.

This is talked about by locals as a resteraunt, indeed it has a resteraunt feel, and promots itself as a resteraunt. This is most DEFINITLY not a pub!

Okay, so maybe it's more cafe/restaurant than pub (although there's a large well stocked bar), but the food's so damn good it's worth a stop when hitting up the Eagle just down the street!

Great food!

This is a bar/restaraunt that sells Greek, Italian, Indian etc food. Very cosmopolitan and always excellent food and service. Thoroughly recommended.

Down a side road and almost out of sight, this restaurant/pub serves up great food from a huge and diverse menu, leaning heavily on Mediterrean and Indian. The help is, well, helpful. Very friendly, if not always easy to understand.
