Only 80 yards from the Old Cider Bar but don't worry. Being Newton Abbot there's another pub on the way in case you get thirsty.

A very cosy little place indeed with a interesting back room down a couple a steps. The pub feels like it should be on the middle of Dartmoor not in the unattrac tive town of Newton Abbot. My pint of Dartmoor jail ale was lovely, If i had one critism it would be that they should have had the lovely looking fire going as it was cold inside.
8/10

Another good traditional pub featuring 3 cask ales including Bays Gold,7/10

Nowhere near as busy as the Locomotive a few doors up, but a slightly more pleasant experience. In addition to Cottage The Underdogs, the pub also had its own Triple S 8% ale. Whilst I didn't try this, the locals were adamant the beer quality was better there than in the 'Loco'. The pub also has a nice open fire. If I had one criticism, it was that the interior was a little dark and dingy.

They had at least three of their own beers available the other day. Good beer and a proper beer drinking atomosphere.

One of a number of watering holes in East Street, the Dartmouth Inn have a range of fine ales on offer, including their own brew. One of the better pubs in Newton Abbot.

Just started brewing its own beer which due to demand and the small brewlength isn't always available. However there is a range of good quality Real Ales. Perhaps not the most luxurious of pubs but still worth a visit.
