Was in here last week - they now serve draught lager which wasn't available a few years ago (the last time I was in) Nice place - a bit shabby round the edges but pleasant. Recommend

This Place has got so much better in the last 6 month, nice environment without being snobbish! Its become our new regular, and the only bar I would go out to on my own. New Manager is very pleasant and accommodating, the staff are knowledgable and super friendly, great place for a date or even to boogie at the weekends! The Classroom is definitely the best place in Altrincham !!!!

The cocktails where nice but overpriced and they dont sell a range of other drinks.
Agree with the comment below regarding the bar staff (patronising) and the cliquey feel.
Good to have been and tried it but probably wont be going again.

Tried the cocktails for the first time last night, very good they were too. I think they should start serving pints though - they could have those tall thin ones if they didn't want to spoil their European vibe!
|
Not a beer drinkers Pub, only serves larger and in half pints. my better half tells me the cocktails are great, but at the prices they charge they should include the glass as well. Recent increase in price of over 10% - how can they justify that?

Went to a Cuban BBQ Event here, was possibly the best night out ive ever had in Altrincham, great affordable cocktails, great music & atmosphere was fantastic. I would reccomend to anyone! The mojitos are to die for !!

I found the staff patronising to be honest. The barman who made cocktails for us totally loved himself, and the place is tiny! There seems to be some kind of in-crowd here, all a bit cliquey. I'm amazed people rate this place, it's a dive. Even the milf's are a bit sleezy. Sorry, we'll try again another time.

Not good to be honest, they only serve poncy beers in bottles and no pints that the owners clearly think makes it a better place! My garage at home is wider than this bar!

nice venue

I made my classroom debut last night. Nice to know that they allow you in with trainers. Some places like this don't allow sporty people in. No pints is very strange but the Amstel for 1.50 is cool with the gang. serious milf action!!

I went here with quite a few other girls for my Friend/Families 30th Birthday.(It was at Halloween and we were all dressed up) Compared to some of the places in Altrincham i really enjoyed it in here the drinks are cheap and it has a great atmosphere.
We also met a David Beckham Wannabe in here

Well well well.....what a place!! A great bar, staff are fantastic, friendly and very professional without being imposing or arrogant - they make some very naughty drinks at nice prices. Cannot recommend the place highly enough.

Its a good place and it isnt actually stuck up its own arse like alot of the other bars in alty

Nice pub. Chilled out atmosphere. No pints though, 1.50 for half is a bit expensive.

We go here every week without fail as it's really close to the bus and train station and can fully recommend everything about the place. The drinks are fantastic and are not a rip off. The staff are really friendly also and nothing is too much for them in the way of service. We keep meaning to pop in at a lunch time and try the food. If anyone has tried the food please let me know what it's like! GO HERE IT'S THE BEST....HONESTLY!

Went for food on Saturday, absalutely amazing. The best I have had in Altrincham. This is my kind of place freshly cooked and the facility to sit at the bar with a nice cold beer and admire the cool artwork. So impressed, went in at night and had a fantastic evening...great atmosphere.

Delicious cocktails and great food. Good for a night out or a quick drink after work. Cool interior with some fab art on the walls. Best bar I've been to in Altrincham.

The Classroom is a must for good food and even better cocktails! Definitely on my list of good bars.

I visited the classroom for the first time the other week and had a fantastic evening! The place has a real buzz about it, a great atmosphere and a list of intoxicating liquor to die for! If you haven't been GO NOW you won't be disappointed!

Visited the Classroom for the first time last week and we were really impressed. The atmosphere is lovely it seems to be a really nice class of clientele - not full of youngsters. The cocktails were a bit TOO good though!
Beth Nixon - 13 Aug 2004 09:42 |
I'm not sure which I found more refreshing about the classroom, the clientele or the cocktails!
The list of cocktails is the longest I've ever seen, and it will take me a good few months to work my way through them all!
The queues at the bar are getting slightly longer as word spreads and it's popularity grows, but the talented bar tenders are a joy to watch as you wait.
Please please please keep the door policy as it is - it's lovely to go to a bar knowing there won't be a pair of rockport in sight!

Definatelty for the oldies but at least it keeps them from making fools of themselves trying to dance to the modern stuff in then younger bars. You may even bump into your mum in here - aaaarrrhhhhhgggggg!!!!

Bar manager very friendly and considerate.
Can see this bar becoming quite upper classed. Felt a little under-dressed wearing jeans.
Cocktails are very overpriced!

I visited this bar on it's opening night on a Wednesday. The manager (I think) was very friendly and polite. I think the decor is a bit slap dash and not finished very well. The lager has to be served in half pints to satisfy the license conditions and for some reason the lager is very expensive yet vodka mixers are comparatively cheap to other pubs.
I though it was expensive considering the decor and comfort of the seats. I will pay it another visit soon.
The last time I passed it at the weekend in the evening it was very full. I wish it luck and hope it does very well.

really nice inside, for the older more sophisticated crowd of altrincham, hope the door policy sticks. really nice man in charge. good luck with it in the future

I thought that it was nicer than Clarinz and the owner seemed like a really nice guy.

Not open yet but should be by the time this is published.
It's an over 25s only bar and it has a dress code. It's been refitted as it was last a furniture shop. It looks OK but I wonder how it will fair with the other bars on the main street, considering it's not a chain and doesn't look that luxurious inside. Not as nice as Clarinz but better than the predictable Slug and Lettuice, Hogshead and Unicorn crowd - don't bother coming.
Nice to see the door policy - it'll keep scallies out, just hope it'll work as it's on the main street.
