Looks rather rough from the street, but this little two-bar Irish pub is a bit tidier inside. No real ales on of course, so made do with a pint of the inevitable John Smiths Smooth. The landlord seemed friendly enough, and the regulars didn't seem to mind a stranger in their midst.

I went there once years ago and had a gun pulled on me. Never again,

Great pub, honest local boozer. Unfairly got a bad reputation. Always has live music at the weekends. Sky and Irish cable for sporting requirements, without having to put up with the usual towny football chavs. Decent pint of guiness, though no cask beer. Always stays open late, and the locals are pretty friendly on the whole.

One to avoid if you have any sense. Apparently the live music is good though.

Friendly Irish pub with a Man Utd./Celtic obsession. Lots of live music and three different bars and even a cash machine if you run short. A good, honest boozer.

A pub for the locals down by the train station. Lot's of toothy grins and dancing to an Irish band on the Saturday night I was there. The prettiest thing in the place was the barmaid. Wouldn't take my mother, but it's sure a welcome from the boomin' dance music played at other pubs on a weekend night.
