Not a bad pub, looks like it has had a refurb in the not too distant past and was not what I was expecting from the outside. A bit on the pricey side at around £9 for two pints of Moonshine by Abbeydale. Ale was pleasant but on the pricey side for a standard pub offering. Wouldn't rush back, but another pub tried and off the list. I can only assume they are trying to keep the riff-raff out at these prices, but with plenty of better pubs with more adventurous ale selections within spitting distance, I think this could be a bad move for the Waldorf.

I have drunk in here on and off for years and the beer has always been pretty average.

Called in here one friday evening with a friend when the weather turned on us. Wish we would never have bothered! I cant remember the name of the ale I had but it was flat and utterly disgusting! My advice "STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!"

Traditional boozer on one of the small red-brick side streets Manchester has so many of. The beer (Deuchar's and landlord on my last visit) is good, it caters for football and cricket fans very well with two big screens and it seems generally quite busy (proximity to the station can't hurt on this count). I'd certainly recommend it for a couple, even if it doesn't have the choice of the likes of the Crown&Kettle.

Well, the Gents weren't particularly pristine when I was in there this lunchtime, they were a bit of a mess. Landlord and Deuchars were on plus Shaws Best and something from the Cotleigh Bewery. I thought the beer was in decent nick. Two big screens for the football and the place was packed with everyone seeming to arrive 5 mins before kick-off. Had to leave just as Man U went one up against Liverpool, suspect it got a bit lively as the game went on, (final result 1-4)

The gents are now pristine in here.

Regular cask ales are Deuchars, Timothy Taylors Landlord, and more recently the wonderful Manchester Marble and its famous friend Ginger Marble. Often a guest ale or two from further afield.

Decent enough boozer, good real ales, especially The Manchester bitter.

Not sure who the "scrotes " are, i have been a regular in this boozer for years now and I cant say it really has any sort of problem.

Bogs need sorting though, so come on wayne, splash a bit of your cash on em and get em sorted

Popped in here after watching Spurs lose at Bolton yesterday. Pub was packed with man utd fans but apart from that the pub was fine. Nice pint of Deuchars but could only stay for one as had to leg it for the train back to the smoke. As a previous poster mentioned it is worth seeking out as an alternative to the vile station bar.

Run down pub in serious need of a refurbishment of both bar and customers. Sells real ale but it's not very well kept. Full of scrotes later in the evening. Been on a downward slide for some time now. Don't bother.

Decent pub - good mix of people, beer is fine and on the cheap side, and as said before it's dead handy for the station and a country mile ahead of the soulless franchises you have to work with there.

Close to Piccadilly station, and well worth the short walk. Lots of dark wood - floors, walls, tables and chairs - but a nice pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord.

excellent little session boozer with a decent range of real ales on (Taylor's Landlord is almost a constant fixture). The crowd is mixed - after work, students, lads about town, real ale pub-crawlers - I've seen it get a bit volatile once or twice, but generally a decent pub to spend a few hours in.

Located close enough to Piccadilly station to be a good alternative to the awful bar on the station concourse. Youll find it down a side street on the left hand side near the Malmaison Hotel. Large bar with separate areas including a raised snug. Lots of wood panelling and comfortable seating. Function room upstairs. Real ales available including Taylors Landlord and Cally XPA when we were there. Large screen for sports.

Very reasonble bar prices for a city centre venue, always busy on football matchdays, good atmosphere, big screen telly, private function room upstairs - one of the better 'proper' Manchester pubs.
