Popped in for a swift pint because the Malt Shovel closes at four for some reason. Can certainly see that under certain circumstances that this pub would be a popular place, but there's a certain faded greatness to it and it comes over a bit rough and ready - the smoking ban has not been kind to this boozer. That said, the ale was fine. Just a bit of a sticky table sort of place.

I used to go here at least once a month when I lived in Milton Keynes (not a bad feat especially when you don't drive!) - I used to love the rock music played there. Even though I don't have a beard (I blinking well hope not!), my friends and I were made to feel welcome. The drinks were reasonable (though one of my mates thought he was charged for a double JD, and not a single, and kicked off)
Not a place for a quiet pint and a read of the paper, but there are plenty of place for that in Northants ;o)

A very good pub - not the place to go if you want a quiet night as there is often a band playing - a good range of ales, and the variety of single malts is very impressive. The Malt Shovel is just down the road, so why not visit both and be ensured of a good night.

A brilliant pub, particularly if you enjoy live rock music. I'm missing it like mad now I've moved away from Northampton. Great staff, nice regulars. Four pints and tinnitus for a tenner used to be a great way to end the week - the beer's gone up, but it would appear the place is every bit as good as it was. Can't wait to get back there for a couple of weeks in a month or so... :)

I'm not a biker, not an all out rocker, but I still loved this pub. Intimidating in some ways, but get over yourself it has a great atmosphere and is what a traditional pub should be about. Get over you prejudices and give it a go.

Having run a Rock/Bikers pub in Oxford (the Gloc) i can say with some conviction that this is a truly awsome establishment and a must visit every time i am in Northampton.

One of the best atmospheres I've ever been to. Bit daunting when walk in, it is a biker pub and I'm quite 'sweet' looking so I stick out like a sore thumb! But will keep going back. Look out for the Billy Burnout, it's a corker!
