no chance of it re-opening - it's now been obliterated and flats built on the site. It's getting to the point that there will soon be more closed/demolished pubs on this site than active ones.

Waaah, say it ain't so! Yet another decent North London pub is confined to the drip tray of history. Went past the other night for the first time in a few months to find the place in complete darkness on a Saturday night and with the pub signage all removed. No signs indicating this is a renovation in progress, so I'm afraid we must assume the worst. Perhaps the loss of match day revenue from Underhill when Barnet FC moved out proved to be a fatal blow. A genuine shame.

Popped in today while on another leg of the London LOOP walk. Excellent couple of pints of McMullen's AK and a nice lunch. The pub was well decorated and comfortable and we were very well catered for by the pleasant chap behind the bar. Definitely worth a visit.

Came in last Friday night as I was going to the Barnet vs Torquay United match at Underhill. Pub was very busy both in and out as the weather was good.
Bar staff handled the rush well. 2 different bitters on draught so i purchased a couple of pints of McMullen's County....oh my god it was easily the worse pint I have ever had and my travelling companion agreed. It was so bad i drank a quarter and had to leave the rest and that kills me!!
I am sure the pipes just need a clean out but if I do ever come here again I won't be going for the county!

Nice sized away fans pub, just a short walk from the Underhill turnstiles. Serving McMullen's AK and Country Bitter, sadly in plastic glasses prior to kick-off, although we were given proper glasses during our return visit after the match, which suggested the AK was kept in reasonable condition. The pub seemed to be in a good state, with a clean and well kept interior and fairly plush, if dated furniture - not always the case with football pubs. Staff were well drilled in terms of dealing with the crowds at the bar, as you would expect from such an establishment. Hard to know if this place would be worth a visit on a normal afternoon or evening though.

one of the better pubs I've been in for away fans! Good location from the ground and also close to the station

a local's pub, had the bog standard karaoke delights with the locals, nothing special but nothing offensive

I had my worst pint of lager of the year so far in here yesterday. I didnt actually finish it as the head was yellow and it tasted like the lines hadnt been cleaned for weeks. I thought that it may have been that the barman/manager changed the barrel half way through pouring my pint, but it wasnt as the misses had a crap pint as well.
The inside of the pub is nice and they were showing the snooker final on the TV, but it is next to a very busy main road so it was very noisy sitting outside lapping up the sun. The barman/manager was friendly enough, but I could tell that he takes no bollox from the punters, which is probably good as there seemed to be a few unsavoury characters about.
Im pretty surprised that I am the first person not to give a good review, but overall I wasnt impressed with this pub.

as decent a pub for away fans as you'll find in the whole country; staff very good, friendly and mc mullens beer very well kept. literally seconds to the away turnstiles as well. spot on, except not always open after the game.

This pub is ok if you are waiting for God. as for the last persons comment about Barnet fans having to use the queens, At least they can get a drink after the game in that pub, unlike the lion, as it shuts..

Increasingly annoyed that this is the away fans pub, wheras us poor Barnet fans have to cope with the Queens!
Have a pint of AK in the Queens, then a pint here, and you taste the difference in quality. They just keep it so much better here.
(I still drink in the Queen's though, so best stay anonymous)

Absolutely cracking pub located near the football ground and the cinema that is ideal for a pre or post entertainment pint, but is actually worth heading to at other times for just a good old fashioned night down the pub. First class bar staff give welcoming service and move things along quickly and the beer (McMullen's for real beers, nice pints of Heineken for the rest of us) is top notch and not at all pricey. Food is good value and is a rare combination of genuine chicken in a basket type fare and a surprising range of Greek Cypriot cuisine, both of which are delicious. Decor is warm cosy old pub style and the leather benches are very comfortable. Clientele seem like a good bunch and it is all in all a bit like the kind of pub you would wish to have as your local in an ideal world. It's reminiscent of a well-run village pub but in a more suburban environment. Really nice, go here now.
