Tame Otter, Tamworthback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Went along for lunch and was very impressed with the location and also the food. Canalside, with plenty of outside seating, ideal for a nice summers day. Food (I went for the belly pork) was absolutely fantastic. Three ales on, the Marston's was fine but I would have preferred some other local ales rather than Shepherd Neame and Sharpe's that they also had on.

Archivist describes the pub well, and I endorse that Vintage Inns have created a pleasing interior here. There is a drinking area to the left of the front door close to the bar and the Everards Tiger was well kept and slipped down.Ped and another real ale also available. Most punters come in for something to eat,and lunchtime attracts office folk from Tamworth including ,on my visit ,two stunning ladies from the local glamour model agency which certainly gave me a lift and increased the rate of Tiger consumption.Far better pub than the Red Lion over the canal.

A large Vintage Inn pub next to the Coventry Canal and over the bridge from the Red Lion; wood beam and white rendered exterior, with hanging baskets, beer garden, as well as an amazing collection of spiders and their webs around the night lights.
The interior, like all Vintage Inns is an open plan nesting of areas, all dining based. There is an attempt to convey some tradition in Vintage Inns; with modernish plain wall and wood panel, stone floor, lots of old pictures and other memorabilia, beams and brick. Music was subdued. The place was friendly, clientele was mixed, with families as well.
Beer; tap stuff, with continental lagers. Handpulls included Rev James (nice), Pedigree and Everard's Tiger.
As pubcos go Vintage are about the best, attempting to blend new and old to some degree, unlike soulless places like the Ember Inns. I would come back here for a beer, and to eat.

Visited this pub recetly - very nice, decent food, great to sit out in the summer. However the service left a lot to be desired, a very long wait for food, only to be told that the order was off. Would not visit again as there is another pub across the canal.

One of the Village Inns chain - decent food and family friendly, if that's what you're after. Very pleasant beer garden with a view of the canal. Decent pint of Pedigree.

Lots of nooks and crannies in this friendly and often very busy village pub that dates back to the 1700's. Now refurbished in modern 'olde worlde' style with lots of beams and a couple of open fires. well kept beers including old Speckled and Pedigree - Hot tasty and reasonably priced food, (the cod in beer batter is huge and mout watering), however one downside is that on my last couple of visits some dishes had run out fairly early in the evening. All main credit cards accepted, huge car park and canalside garden

Although the menu has changed alot with not so many choices as they used to have the food is still very reasonable as are the Sunday lunches. Lovely location pretty on the outside as well as interesting on the inside..

We frequently pop in to The Tame Otter for lunch, the whale of a fish is fantastic so my husband tells me. This is a busy pub with people of all ages using it, The canal runs close by and people also use the pub. The food is good and the prices reasonable. We went for Sunday Lunch for the first timelast Sunday, the place was packed but soon got a seat. It was around 2pm and ppl were still coming in at 3-30pm and they hadn't run out of a thing. The staff remained friendly and efficient.

Recently re-furbished village pub opposite Hopwas woods and close to the Coventry Canal. This large pub is invarioubly welcoming with friendly accomodating staff. Lots of nooks and crannies, beams, old farm impliments and open fires. Good food served all day. Garden and large car park - 3 miles from where i live and I consider it my local!
