Red Lion, Cheadleback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
I was a regular at the Red Lion (no longer). Last night my husband and I took our sons' friend, a lovely inoffensive young man. Our friend had no ID, which we accept, but the landlord was very, very rude and ordered our friend off the premises. Refusing to serve the young man with a cola, saying "he could be a police plant and I want you to leave now." Our problem is not the ID issue, but the attitude of the landlord. Staff did apologise for his behaviour. BE WARNED HE IS A HORRIBLE, ARROGANT PERSON WHO HAS NO PEOPLE SKILLS, HE NEVER SMILES OR TALKS TO THE CUSTOMERS , only happy when he is taking your MONEY!!! He has the attitude of a 1970's innkeeper with no customer relations skills.
Cannot fault the ladylady, she is a beautiful, kind and friendly landlady with a nice pleasant nature.

I wouldn't quite as far as the previous comments, but it's definitely the best pub near Cheadle Town FC (the others being 2 Robinsons pubs not registered, Queens Arms and Printers Arms (keg only)). On my visit, 3 Robinsons real ales - Mild, Bitter and Dizzy Blonde - in decent form. Food seems to be available evenings too and the carvery does sound good (12-6 Sunday, 6.95).
