Has real ale, but on my visit (Feb 09) just Deuchars and Abbot. The Deuchars was not on form-strange aftertaste. Nice pub though, OK to take your Missus or Mum. Food a bit pricey for just plain pub grub. Drinks expensive too. But most of them are in Scotland. Not a rough pub. Pay a visit for a pint, then have a walk around. Needs a central heating system that works- a bit cold in here.

This pub is in the good beer guide but the beer is not spectacular. Just your average boozer with a gang of old lads betting on the nags in the public bar.

Nice meals, friendly staff & customers just a pity the small lounge is very cramped at tables when busy.

Visited agan on 8/9th Ocotober and the Arran Ale was back on - not in great nick but - well I had a few. So guess the Spetember expereince was a temporary abberation.

Yet again disappointed to see that the handpump was covered over and that the only real ale available was McEwans 80 and no Arran Ales as suggested by the signs in the street.
Slightly smokey but lots of good chat and friendly people.

The Black Bull Inn is a superb pub. Very cosy and the 80 Shilling Ale is fantastic. Great food for evening and lunch time and very friendly staff.
