agree completely with the previous comment.the beer is overpriced, the family members working behind the bar can be rude and it appears that they would rather be somewhere else.but on a brighter note, the food is great and it looks like the landlady has worked her socks off to bring in people and the unrelated barstaff are friendly.

One of most expensive pubs for area, yet the service is far from desired. Family members work behind the bar and are rude to paying customers. Heard one threatening of 'pint going over you next and the glass' this is not the attitude expected of bar staff who are paid to be pleasent. Such a shame as the Sunday food is brilliant. Shame regulars aren't valued as much as they should.

Good Spitfire, however unfriendly atmosphere if not a local.

popped in last night, nice vibe in there, friendly crowd, decent pool table, and jukie.

Had a good pint of spitfire last time I went in, and there was quiz going on.

I 'enjoyed' the worst pint it has ever been my misfortune to encounter in here. But don't let that put you off.

This pub was taken over last june.It has had a refit and is now a clean and friendy pub.The food is excellet. This is a great pub and if your in rochester you should visit this pub.

Large red brick 1930's road house style pub on its last legs. Everything is just a little bit tatty and worn. The games room is too smelly to sit in. The place does food, but there was none on our visit. Two cask ales - Spitfire and Courage Best. The Spitfire was in a dull, but acceptable condition. Big plus point in an otherwise dreary pub is the friendliness of the two barmaids.
