There was a Slug in my Lettuce!
Not sure why people have been so negative, I have been in quite frequently in the last 2 years and think it's great. The food is good, their new drink and food deals are fantastic and the beer lines are kept clean. The staff are nice and it has a modern, comfy atmosphere. 9/10.

Beware.
Not visited myself, but two friends have recently been shortchanged or 'accidentally' overcharged.
Check your bill carefully - and change ditto.

Went for a few drinks after work. Found the beer to be so flat i left it so stick to bottles. The mens toilets were not good dirty and needing repairs.
For a slug well below par in need of a good clean and injection of cash

Went back here last night a few months after my last visit. Would not have gone by choice but some mates like it so I felt obliged and I had heard it had improved.
Well, let me tell you right now it is just as crap as it ever was. All the draught beer tasted like someone had poured ammonia in the barrels. After giving up on beer we tried a bottle of wine which tasted of vinegar and domestos. Finally settled on very expensive bottled beer instead.
It is filthy and full of scumbags (though to be fair most pubs in Tonbridge are the same). Staff are inattentive and will only serve you when they have finished serving their mates. If you have the gall to complain about anything they stand, open mouthed, and stare as if they want you to tell them what to do next.
I will not go back again. If my mates go there when I am with them I will sit in the Castle opposite, have a decent pint and wait for them to finish.
This place stinks. Close it!!!!

NEVER HAD A DECENT PINT IN THIS BAR CAN ONLY DRINK BOTTLES IN HERE ON THE RARE MOMENTS OF MADNESS THAT TAKE ME THERE! STAFF ARE PRETTY SHIT TO BE FAIR
i'm with "thehoff" on this one!!! they got rid of all their shit staff now so its a great place to go!!! if you like to hang around with chavs i suggest you drink in spoons or the warf those places are full of them!! scott your awesome... if you weren't at the slug it would be like all the other places in scumbridge

well you dont get much camper than scott, but he is a very nice chap with a gentle touch. long live the slug, a refuge for the non tracksuit wearing members of tonbridge.
seemed ok for a quick drink, fridges were bare and tables dirty and this was 5pm on a tuesday

not bad start to evening its a little tired looking and very overpriced on the cocktail front. but the staff were friendly enough if not a little bored!
pretty shocking! way under par draught lager, i think this would do better a pizza hut as it seems the staff are already trained to that level.
This place really is pretty dreadful! Draught beer all tastes really bad (not just once - have been half a dozen times) and is vastly overpriced. Bottles are available but often they are not cold enough to enjoy, wine is OK but pricey and staff are rude to non-regulars. OK if you want a place to pose and you have more money than sense but not really what I call a pub!
getting better shame about the beer though
sitting on the fence on this one. nice manager katey but awfull beer. good food but vastly overpriced. clean but souless. not sure really
not very friendly

one word describes this pub . SNIFF !
this was fine until a camp guy who said he was owner kept talking and talking. telling us this was the best place in town (he must kidding)much prefer the pitcher and piano at home for this style of bar. lot's of snorting in corners of pub

used to be our main bar but we prefer wharf now but food is good if you can get served.
a bit posh but druggy and no ale
nice coffee food would be good if they got order even nearly right
it's a bit like a libary got no soul to it but it better than most of the others we visited on monday night
Not much of a 'pub' but friendly staff and service.
bit expensive, but good alternative to the spoons
