I was here for lunch today. Tucked away well off the main road, this is an unpretentious, informal and friendly pub, albeit with some rather weary-looking furniture. The beer (Harveys Sussex) was well kept and good if not exceptionable. Fish and chips OK, but my friends gammon was very good!

We did experience some communication difficulties with the young lady behind the bar, whose first language clearly is not English- the manageress had to sort the orders out on two occasions.

The bill for two pints, two main courses and two desserts was 23, which seemed reasonable.

One of the better pubs in TW, Great quiz night, and good live music (if a little cramped). Gets HEAVING in the summer, so get there early ish if you want to sit in the garden, and don't expect speedy service. But, great beer and a brilliant atmosphere makes it worth it. Also has probably the smallest Gents Toilets in the world!!!!

Had a bad experience there one afternoon. Went there for lunch and as there were no veggie options among the sandwich selection my husband asked if he could have a cheese and onion baguette. The lady behind the bar agreed. A sausage and melted cheese baguette was delivered. My husband politely pointed out the mistake to a young barman. The baguette returned with melted cheese and fried onions. Probably the same baguette. The chef just removed the sausage. Husband went back to the bar and said he didn't want the cheese melted and the onions fried. The barman's response was "you should have said when you placed the order!" and stormed back off to the kitchen. We decided we didn't want to eat there anymore and upon leaving we got a mouthful of abuse from the barman. Gutted because we loved the Beau Nash but will never be drinking there again.

Can't comment on the food as I haven't eaten here, but it looks good coming out to other peoples tables. Great cosy little place in the winter with friendly helpful staff and open fires, but it's in the summer that this hidden gem comes to life... great garden with so much space, also great if the typical English summer shows itself as you can nestle under giant brollies with heaters... without doubt the best garden in Tunbridge Wells.

The Beau Nash has been redecorated since my last visit in January 2007 and now has a much "lighter" more airy feel to it.The bar is small and compact with cosy lighting, friendly staff & a nice range of largers, ale and wines etc.Because of its size it is busy with an older more mature crowd which makes a nice change from the under 25 venues that crowd the town centre. The beer garden to the rear of the bar has now been much improved and offers good cover for those wishing to smoke or enjoy the warmer weather when it arrives. The toilets are however far too small and cramped. The general feel for the place is of a friendly local pub then live music most Saturday nights. No problems with drunks, white powder chasers or other problems evident so all in all an ok place.

Nice pub, if very small. Beer is ok, but nothing special. Can get very busy, although there is an outside area.
Food used to be really good at one point, although i've been told this is no longer the case.

Local pub for local people. Very very small, tiny door to get through. Beer garden is lovely in the summer.

Great old fashioned honest pub, knows what it is, great beer garden, really thought out how to accommodate us unclean smokers, thank you.

Nice small place with a beer garden to the rear and small comfy bar area. Can get packed at the weekends and quite smokey though this will change of course in July.Older crowd mostly with a friendly atmosphere, food ok though limited. Some problems with drunks every now and then due to weak management at the bar, tiny toilets. Some rowdyness can spoil the evenings on bank holidays and hot summer evenings.

Easy going people and often have good live music. One of the better pubs in TW if you want to be where not everyone is a student.

This places is weird. I can imagine them having illegal cock fighting in there on a sunday! A local pub for local people.

Possibly the best 'local' pub in Tunbridge Wells (maybe even Kent!). Lovely warm interior, that creates a great atmosphere. Pleasant garden out back, with Bar b Que's in Summer. Beer is good with a selection of real ales, Adnams, Speckled Hen, Harveys (yuk!) and Spitfire. Very friendly staff and great service. Food is also a plus, with a good selection of pub grub, superb roast on a Sunday and a divine all day breakfast (served literally all day) on a Saturday. Brilliant for the night before. *****

probably the most reliable pub in twells, although the real ales vary in quality. was given massive make-over a few years ago which actually improved it - unlike the poor old george across the road which was wrecked. a nice place in a great location.

Only been there for the rugby world cup. Served free food at half-time and had a great atmosphere.

This is a friendly, unpretentious pub with live music every Friday and Saturday night. The bar staff is excellent so there are no delays in getting served - big plus! Quite a drinking place for locals.
