Now converted to flats. Hey ho.

Closed, with an existing planning application to turn it into flats.

Closed down? Any info on this one...?

This is a great "locals" pub, full of atmosphere and life on the right evening. It doesn't dress itself up as a gastropub or a haute-cuisine experience, but it is honest and welcoming as a proper working pub should be. The regulars seem to be friendly and the beer is well-kept. Overall a good place to stop out for the evening if you want a relaxed atmosphere in a spit-and-sawdust PROPER pub.

Not actually bad, just a bit unwelcoming really. The town is crying out for a decent pub and unfortunately this one doesn't make the grade. Charmless wouldbe a good word to describe it - a bit taxi driver, if you know what I mean. I had a particularly rough pint of 6X too.

This is a great pub for live music on a Saturday night. Loads of great local bands like Six Miles Away play there - they also do a nice pint of Youngs! Well managed by Tom.

well guys just trying to come into the 21st century. yes you can now contact me via e-mail! try and get pub registered soon so that you all know what's going on! hopefully you enjoy the crown experience if not come talk to me. Always prepared to listen to ways of improving, just so long as they don't break the law! Hopefully see ya soon. Tom.

We stopped here for a quick pint on the way back from Portsmouth. Nice pub with cheap pool table and friendly attentive staff. Spotlessly clean toilets. My only concern was that my companion's beer was slightly iffy, but my lager was fine. They advertise loads of live music and/or disco nights.

A proper local pub - none of this wine bar/sports bar tomfoolery!! Really good landlord and landlady who actually care about and let you try things before you buy them. Great beer and a fantastic selection of live music one night per weekend.
