Just reopened after a refurb. Probably the best town centre local although a bit studentie!

I ordered a moussaka to eat from a very extensive menu - this proved to be a very ominous choice. It cannot have been defrosted properly or cooked long enough. When my wife and I got back to our hotel in late pm- she ate a tasty chicken salad by the way- I was badly sick and could tell the reason- say no more. Whatever you eat there be careful and management please take greater care. Beer was ok and service v quick friendly- for food service probably should have been slower- this was on Sunday 1 December 2007

Quite possibly the best pub in town. A great selection of well kept beers and a terrific menu available until 9pm.All at very reasonable prices. The manager is very friendly and his team are great.

lets face it this pub is not spectacular in any regard. in fact if you're going to walk that far down the street you might as well carry on a bit further and get a decent drink out leek wooton

The Green Man has moved a long way from its former days as a thunderbox. I'm not a big fan of turning traditional pubs into chain pubs, but Ember Inn do it a lot better than anyone else. Beers fine, atmosphere pleasant. If you've been to The Bowling Green in Lichfield - its just like that. And if you haven't - its still just like that.

"Patronising arrogant"? There's nothing wrong with cheapish but good value food: one can eat there often. But useful, surely, to know that that is what's on offer if, mistakenly, one expected more the style of food to go with the Kenilworth eatery mentioned by Russler (in which sadly I've never been able to afford to eat).

My opologies Dr I ment Tim.

If you can find a pub in the near vacinity with staff more dedicated to the success of their pub please tell me.Brilliant cask beer and a comical love hate relationship between bar staff and guests make it the most enjoyable pub in town. The only bad thing about the pub has gone, the former landlord!! Yes you heard Chris!!Oh and to the slightly patronising arrogant so called dr's comments about the food you can always dip your're hans in those obviously deep pockets you have and go to Simpsons. No doubt you will be crawling back through the Green Man's doors the next day.

Fine in a make-over sort of way. Beer better than expected. The other comments are pretty accurate, but fail to mention the poor quality and loud volume of the PA system on quiz nights. Not a bad example of this sort of pub.

Refurbished as an Ember Inn with a number of real fires and a rather corporate atmosphere, the beer is, nevertheless, rather good often with Bombardier and / or Landlord as a guest and in good condition. No doubt the turnover generated by the very busy Wednesday quiz nights helps. The food is good value rather than good. There is some outside seating which is quite pleasant although the pub is on the main shopping road in Kenilworth.

Great staff, great value food, adn the Cheese and Bacon Burger is fantastic! Quiz nights on wednesday are fun, but tough, and the place gets seriously rammed with people.
