Had some really good meals here and some real shockers!!! Always a good atmosphere but service is poor and just not on the button.

We 've been here twice for a meal and both times have had stomach pains afterwards. The place looks so nice from the outside but we won't be returning a third time !

Had a frankly Bloody AWFUL night in here on friday...nearly 40 minutes to get served by dis-interested teenagers, who couldn't give a toss about their reason for employment, and spent more time talking amongst themselves than watching who was waiting to be served, and in what order.
The Ale was in such poor (Ice Cold) condition, I had to switch to Lager...something I haven't drunk in 15 years, and that wasn't much better. Typical M&B establishment......and just one of the MANY reasons that I detest them as a Pub Co.

Ate here on 14th October 2009 at lunchtime (1pm). Service was very slow (nearly an hour wait for a main meal for 6 of us), which was a surprise given that most of the dishes were clearly microwaved from frozen and barely palatable. I think this pub is a victim of its own (previous) success and also relies on its historic status to hoodwink the customer into not realising just how poor the food and service is.

A place for food with a beer on the side not the other way around. Food is good quality if a little mass produced. This is no gastro pub but it serves simple good grub at very reasonable prices.
Friendly staff but a busy place so dont expect to go in for a chat.

Hate this place with a passion- only because it offers so much from the outside & delivers nothing but frozen chain food & pretend fires inside! Why it is so busy when there are many far better eateries & drinking dens within a few minutes drive is beyond me.......

Arrived with four colleagues for a meal. Menu interesting. Service totally chaotic! Waiting staff totally inept; wrong food served, delays in serving all our party with starters so that some had finished before others had started. When main courses arrived quite eatable but nothing special. Rioja good value though and Guinness palatable, served at right temperature.

As one of the previous reviews says, this isn't a drinkers pub. Only Bass and Everard's Tiger on handpull, Old Speckled Hen was on a smoothflow tap (so I avoided that!). After one pint of Bass I had an Erdinger at 3.00 a pint.
Lovely interior, I sat in a huge red leather armchair by the fire (not real I seem to recall). It was busy, mostly there for food. Apart from one group of sixth-formers/student-types, I was probably the only person not having any food.

Considering the history of Dunchurch and the Dun Cow, it would be nice to see a guest beer in there. The place certainly looks like it should have one. Food OK but I get the feeling it is a bit processed.

A decent enough pub with good food and average ale. Nice place to go for a meal but not a drinkers pub.

The beer choice is awful and this pub is aimed straight at the afluent middle classes. Good but expensive food and a good ambiance make it a nice place for a meal. Don't bother however if you enjoy beer as the have no knowledge of the subject.

not really the scene for it, but some of the waitresses are very attractive. It does not add to the quality of the beer, but it certainly does not detract from it..

Damn good beer, wine and food. Very friendly and efficient staff and a great atmosphere. Winners of the 'Real Fire' pub of the year in the West Midlands.
