Popped in here for a Sunday Roast. Pleasant enough pub, although table numbers on the tables instills a sense of commercialism to the place. Beer was fine. The roast was served quickly and the roast beef was huge so no complaints on that. A generally nice pub but should be careful to stay clear of comercialisation or risk losing touch with the village pub type which I truly enjoy

Some what over rated. The food is not that brill and seems very dark and dismal. Great for kids due to the play area.

Deceiving in size & not far from the M2 Medway services if you take the service road. A decent choice of ales, but unfortunately not well kept. (I had to change my 1st pint). I found the food ok and reasonably priced. Large beer garden with a good play area for kids. Huge car park too. I feel this pub could do so much better though.

Lovely surroundings, fantastic south facing beer garden, with a play area. Unfortunately the catering was too a very low standard. to be honest the worst food I have actually tasted from warmed up bar food... I had a good time until the bar staff approached the table. they were incredibly inexperience. it was very much like a family run pub, who had their caravans out the back. Which in this case very true life I have never been treated or addressed in such a inappropriate and offences manor. I am truly disappointed by the service I have received, and now have learnt from my experience and will listen to the advise given by previous attendees.

Somewhat isolated, The Bell is a village local attracting a variety of differing types from hungry families, to the younger football crowd. Until a recent midweek evening visit, I hadnt been in here for over a couple of years and being the eager type, have being looking forward to adding some additional comments to my - lets face it - previous minimalistic effort.

Most - unless within walking distance - drive here, so the first sight youll encounter is the rather anonymous - though be it - accommodating gravelled beer garden complete with a lovely view of the parked cars. The entrance nearest to here, leads into the establishments main extension. With the usual rubber-stamped fittings, a pubs-by-numbers approach is fairly evident, though it is comfortable enough. There are ample dining facilities and a plasma screen to keep the lads and children amused. Walk through here and youll lead yourself to the original bar. Tidy and more traditional - though worked on over the years, obviously - this is the favoured spot for yours truly - and by looking around - seemingly where those of a more mature fraternity like to congregate. Amongst the usual kegs is pleasingly, a selection of ales: Spitfire, Courage Best, Directors and one from Chathams Nelson Brewery. The condition was excellent and prices are average for the area. The staff encountered were attentive enough and the background music was not overly intrusive. I like it quite a lot here and wont be leaving it another two years!

Popular village pub that's been extended out the back in an anonymous standard issue pub fayre manner that pulls in families for meals in the pub garden overlooking the large car park.
The original bar is tidy, but original charm and character is hard to find.
4 casks including one from Nelson. Best, Directors, Spitfire.

Nice enough village pub. Staff appeared friendly, but the relatively loud music seemed rather out of place. Had a nice pint of Nelson Brewery IPA which I've not tasted before.

After visiting this charming country pub back in march 2005, i have pretty much made it my local, i decided to get on here and give it the much deserved praise that it is due. I have read the unfounded comments made by anonymous individual's and can only come to the conclusion that these are based on "sour grapes". I personally have found the new menu to be greatly improved and have not had one bad meal there! And i eat there a lot! The staff have settled into the new way of things since the new management took over a year ago, and after talking to a lot of them about the changeover they all seem very happy and feel they are supported by their managers. Recently the pub introduced live music on the last saturday of every month, its gone down a storm! A great atmosphere and a well needed change on a Saturday night. They also showed all the world cup Rugby games, which was a great idea and the only pub in the area doing so! I was also informed that they wanted to steer the pub toward the rugby crowd, rather than football, and seeing that most pubs cater for the football supporters this can only improve and make it a better family atmosphere. All I can say is "well done" and if this is any indication of which way the pub is going, it has my full support

the bell is a lovely looking and child friendly pub, with ample parking space. however there is much room for improvement. since the change of management many things has suffered. i.e the food. the portions are smaller and on more than one occasion i have had to return the food.this is normally when the pub is very busy and demands on the kitchen staff and chef are high.the childrens menu has improved alot and there is a good choice. there does seem to be a problem with the beer in the main bar, which is often flat.however beer brought in the top bar is good.the outside area is large with plenty of garden benches, can be difficult to find a clean glass free table tho. the bar staff are good and work very hard,in what sometimes can only be described as a madness situation.as a regular customer i feel that some members of the new management have little respect for their staff and local regular customers. which in time could be their downfall. on a positive note, this pub is a beautiful country pub, the steak is usually good, beer in a bottle is always not flat and some members of the management are not often about, which more often than not, is a bonus!!

I would just like to say, that the new management, in the pub are doing a really good job and it's a breath of fresh air. However, they do need to re-home some of the old winging customers that don't like change and improvements. Frankly they can be quiet rude and up themselves. I can't wait for the new menu to start, as it's well over due. Just remember change is good.

Having recently visited this pub since the change of management, after 3 weeks I have yet to see the new management! I have been told that they come from a large chain of establishments and that this is the way they intend bringing this charming local pub forward. I feel that if I wanted to visit a well known chain I would visit one. The bar staff are still working as usual but there is a sense of discord going on. The food is the same for the moment but I have been informed it will be changing and going up! I only hope that the company who own this successful pub (which is down to the previous management) do take the necessary steps to avoid this! Please!!!!

I used to go here on Friday evening now and again. Aside from the overcrowding, I do recall this place having music, though I could never hear it over the crowds. Despite these gripes, I always found the place to be quite welcoming and friendly. Recommended, though maybe not at weekends.

They've put an extension on the end and they've now got a really nice terrace with a playground for kids. Gets busy in the heat though, naturally.
