Closed - now a care home.

30 years ago it was my Dad's local - he often recounted fond memories from the time!
|
So 30 years ago it was not a bad pub. According to her profile, Katie B is 29 years old. Are these facts connected????

Demolished - Shame really as 30 years ago it wasn't bad, blame the Pubco and they ruined it

CLOSED
|
Used to be a nice pub but went slowly downhill over many years.
There was a lot of trouble there in the last few years, so much so they were thinking about putting in a police station in the closed public loos opposite.
It's no great loss, especially with the Lucky Rover and North Star down the road

Now sold and a planning application in for demolition and a rebuilding of a form of sheltered housing.
|
Sadly now delicensed. Expect demolition and redevelopment soon. Another community facility gone.
|
Passed on September 12th. Still boarded up.
|
I passed by this pub to-day; it is closed with the windows boarded up. I don't know what the plans are for it but presumably it will be demolished eventually and flats or houses built on the site.

A pub with a large frontage and car park, at the far end of Hook Broadway. There appears to be 2 bars but the left hand one was closed for redecoration. The other was moderately comfortable with a small children's area at the far end. Decoration a bit tacky with green/blue flashing lights around the door and children's area. Left over from Christmas? Despite having 7 lagers, there was only 1 cask ale available, Courage Best on an unmarked pump. A sign of the times, I suppose. A typical unpretentious local's boozer that doesn't appear to sell food.

Down to earth local with one bar occupied by a pool table. One real ale (not on at the time of visit).
