go to this pub if you want a punch in the face and the owner and staff do not help

The food and beer in this place are good and very reasonably priced. Unfortunately some of the people who use this place tend to ruin the experience. I was in for a meal with the family on Friday afternoon and there was a large crowd in the restaurant area who were letting their kids run amok.
You cant blame the kids because the adults were not setting them a very good example by shouting across the room and generally behaving like scum while other customers were eating.
When the barman politely asked them to control their kids, one ignorant bloke became aggressive towards him, which made the atmosphere even more unpleasant.
We had already ordered our food, otherwise there is no way we would have stayed. It's a nice place but it's a shame that ignorant scum like this have to inflict themselves upon the rest of us...

It's OK this pub. Not used it that often but it's a definite improvement on the old Blackamoors. Beers would hardly have CAMRA members racing to get in but they seemed to be all right and inexpensive for the area. Probably the best pub in Chessington, Hook or Tolworth.
Food none too bad either.

Large pub, formerly known as the Blackamore Arms located on a mini roundabout in the centre of Chessington close to the station. Comfortable lounge which wraps itself around the central bar. Only 1 real ale when I was there but it was a very reasonably priced Old Speckled Hen at 2.10 per pint. Serves mainly grilled food which is also cheap. I wasn't eating so can't comment on the quality. Friendly and comfortable and worth a visit.

Grub ok, cheap, but only small portions. Bar staff were excellent though, very friendly.

Since the new landlady took over this pub has really turned around, the food is great the atmosphere is good to. Much better than before and they are friendly to people with kids also. This place is now better than most of the other pubs in the area.

Great friendly local pub, qood quality food, very cheap. Staff are very friendly and well trained. Is refreshing to have a well run good local pub back in the area.
This pub used to be a dive, the landlady appears to have turned the place around.

About time the description of the pub was up dated sky TV ? pool tables ? can someone tell me where these are

Having again eaten in here I am still not impressed. The staff seem untrained and several with attitude and the landlady still seems more interested in keeping the ex plough customers happy ! You can change a name and tart a pub up this is and always will be the Blacks and for gods sake bring back some of the old faces, they are better than the new

Still and always will be a chavs palace with an undertone of undesireables

Excellent pub! The new landlady is doing a wonderful job. Her staff, although all new to the job, are a credit to her and the head chef is amazing! She is systematically ridding the pub of undesirables and is turning it into a friendly, safe and inviting place to visit. I would fully recommend a visit to this pub. Well Done!!!

The food and drink are good but with no entertainment it was boring. People used this pub for the sport and now it has been done away with as have many of the once regulars will probably be found in the Maverick ! How long will it be before it turns back into a real drinkers pub you can change the name but you can't change the history once the Blacks always the Black !

I was impressed on opening night, the bar staff were friendly enough but they didn't have a clue about the drinks they were serving. I just hope they magage to get rid of the overwhelming smell of food that after a while became nauseating. It all looks very nice but how long will that last and how long before it reverts to chav city ?

After attending the so called opening night we wait with baited breath to see what happens. And knowing the landlady came from another pub locally, which was run badly and had some very choice staff as well customers lets see how long it is before she brings this place to its knees
