went last night and very impressed. food was excellent, pretty good range of ales as well. Had a good pint of Moorhouses Pride of Pendle. very busy with everyone sat outside in the beer garden. had ales in Ye Olde Cock opposite which were both undrinkable

Good choice of cask ales and decent location with plenty of outdoor seating. Didn't try the food (ate next door).

Food was generally poor - "rare steak" was medium/well and "grilled fish" was watery and didn't look grilled. Hot desert was frozen in the middle which I assume was wrong too!
Shame as the beer is great and the staff all friendly and helpful.

Great sunday roast! Desserts are excellent too. Very busy on sunday though, make a reservation.

Went to the Didsbury as the new fish restaurant was not opening until 14th July.
It was slightly busy when we arrived (6:30pm Thursday), but found a table for 4. The table had been cleaned but wasn't.
We ordered the food 1 starter and 4 mains. The kids mains turned up after 30 mins followed by my and my partners main. I informed the server that I had not had my starter yet and she simply turned her back and went to the kitchen.
My starter was a Chicken bruschetta (a special dish of the day - apparently). The chicken was extremely dry and the simple to make red chilli sauce was obviously out of a bottle. I asked the server if this dish was of a typical standard and his reply was 'that's the way it comes'.
When my main arrived (fish and chips with mushy peas) if was obvious that it was the same main incorrectly served earlier and had just been reheated - how I'd wished that the fish restaurant was open :(
The Didsbury will really have to up its game if it wants to compete with its neighbouring restaurant.
Rant over.

I liked The Didsbury, but i'm not sure if i like it as much these days, i went in a few weeks on a Saturday night and it was virtually empty and devoid of any atmosphere, but to be fair it was at 11:30 and perhaps most of the customers went on into Manchester or Fallowfield.

Decent Chef & Brewer with good range of the organic North Yorkshire beers, but quality not as good as elsewhere
|
Beautiful food, gorgeous range of ever-changing guest beers, good service. I can't fault this place :-/
|
It's more of a restaurant than a pub. Food is good for a pub and reasonable priced.
|
Really nice pub. Good food. 9/10 easily.

I meant to say Withington not Wilmslow. What a dick!
|
Good Pub but I haven't been in since 1970 when I lived in Wilmslow. I live in Detroit, USA now. I'd like to drop in sometime but it's a hell of a walk home.

Good 'olde' style pub - good crowd, nice beer and fantastic food. No gimmicks and a nice beer garden!!
