Completely re-vamped by Youngs the 18th Century Kings Head has been totally transformed. Excellent food, enthusiastic staff, quality furnishings and an imaginative menu. The beers are chosen by Youngs and it could perhaps match the food menu to a more extensive real ale menu. But no doubt about it this gives the Telegraph serious competition and it deserves to do really well.

currently looks to be in the throes of extensive redevelopment.....
let's hope this historical old boozer gets some tlc by it's new owners and forthcoming clientele - she really does deserve a break.
Please god make it chav free and the hive of activity it was in the 70's when my folks used it on a Sunday. That big tree in the garden was my climbing tree for many years.

This pub had really gone down hill the last time I came in here. It was alright, and went in a few times whilst studying in the area, but the revamp has done it no favours.
The real difference maker is the fact they put bouncers on the door who had a no trainers and no baseball caps policy and instead of attracting people, people decided it wasn't worth it. When I went in we were the only people in the whole pub if you don't count the staff. It was empty.
To be fair though that was in November or December. The fact it is still open must mean they have somehow attracted punters. If this is the case it might be on its way back to what it used to be. Lets hope so, it was an okay-ish pub til the new staff took over.

Great large pub which has been extensively revamped. Perennial favourite with Roehampton students and even better when the weather is kind and you can sit outside.
