How wonderful to find a very traditional boozer, with a nice ambiance, a good and interesting selection of ales, and delicious food quickly served, all at a reasonable price, in an area teeming with tourists. Excellent.

Friendly barman & pleasant barmaid, comfy pub, smoking area to side of pub. 6 ales on when we visited, I had Windsor & Eton 'Windsor Knot' [4%] ok pint, and Hogsback Brewery 'T.E.A. [4.2%] a tasty pint in good nick.

Small. Not a lot of choice of beer and quite pricey. Quite small.

got to gice this place an identical review as did for the carpenters arms jut a meter or two down the road. brilliant.
despite its incredibly touristy location, this pub is not just a passing resemblance of a traditional pub for tourists, it is anACTUAL traditional oub and a good one at that.
dark and badly laid out, just like all good old fashioned pubs should be, compltete with a low door that every bangs there head on when leaving.
plus the excellent "knight of garter" on the pump
love it.

The pubs close to the castle are surprisingly good, even if prices touch £4 and the typical conversation is about menu options. This was a lovely place to read a paper before the lunch rush, and for a change the local beer was gorgeous rather than dull home brew.

Went in here this afternoon for a Sunday lunch and a half, whilst visiting Windsor. Adnams Lighthouse and Windsor & Eton Conqueror were the 2 ales on. The cider was Aspalls. Food was fairly average. The tourists must love this place. It's seemingly a very old pub overlooking the Castle and a group of wealthy Americans had apparently hired out the pub for the evening for a private party. Not too bad a pub. But I prefer the Carpenters Arms round the corner.

Had one pint on Friday before heading off elsewhere to meet friends. Decent enough pint from local brewery but not cheap although that's not suprising given its location. Went back later in the evening and it was mobbed with no space at all so didn't stay that time.

warm flat beer, wobbly table and no wifi. Expensive all round and poor value food.

First visit to this pub for many a long year and I wasn't disappointed. Local beer - Windsor & Eton "Guardsman" & "Windsor Knot" on draught- plus Taylor's Landlord. Due to its location by the castle it does get heaving with tourists but is still worth a visit and the beer was fine. They appear to do food and coffee all day. Nice traditional interior and the staff were very cheery. Good little pub. Prices do reflect the area.

Good friendly well run pub overun with tourists in Summer, nice outside seating area ,imagine it would be great on a cold winters evening as very cosy.

Visited Sunday 24/10 with friends and was overwhelmed by the excellent service. Have visited this pub on numerous occasions but for one reason or another, did not get round to writing a review. I love the location here. Great place for people watching. Choice of beers is fair, but opted for the fizzy stuff instead. My only complaint about the whole experience - they ran out of Peroni - I can never understand how this happens. Thoroughly recommend a visit. Great pub!!

Popular, so gets crowded for such a small pub. The food is value, considering the price, and there are loyalty cards out there too for even better offers. (tho it's not obvious how to get one). Beer is always in good nick. Good place for a social beer n chat with friends.

On our visit this pub right next to the castle was overcrowded and not particularly inspiring. Probably OK out of tourist season. Limited range of beer (TT Landlord) but was in good condition.

Handy for a meal and a drink after visiting Windsor Castle. The steak & kidney pie was huge and quite tasty. I guess the prices are what you must expect at this location ...

Sometimes known as the 'House of Gloom', this is actually a pretty decent pub. Of course being a part of the Windsor Pub Co stable, you have to be a member of the Royal Family to afford to drink there...

Brilliant pub! Nice atmosphere, but as others say it is expensive. Usually filled with Lay Clerks from the Castle after 7pm! Only adds to its lovely charm though, having some young locals! Prices are scary, but I still frequent this pub.

Really enjoy the atmosphere in here, smashing views by the window. Enjoyable Spitfire on last visit, though not a cheap one by any means!

Great looking traditional pub... reasonable selection of beer, but prices to make you blush. Shame really; sometimes there's a really good atmosphere in there.
