A pub with an interior to die for. Beer ,well perhaps choice, could be better , but I apreciate I called in on boxing day when stocks were running down , the guest butcombe christmas steps had just gone. The choice of Ales was butcombe trad , london pride, doombar , and otter ale , the cider was ticknum tipple, and thatchers dry.
A couple of Ticknum tipples were dispatched, which was very pleasant, and then a couple of otter ales, the quality of which was very good.
The staff were very polite ,and courteous, and despite the fact there was a very large crowd in that day I was served quickly.
The pub itself is on the outer perimiter of nailsea, and may be reached by the 354 weekdays , and 362/363 sundays.

This pub has been vastly improved by the new landlords. They have created a fantastic outside seating area also. Much as it has been my local of choice for 10 years, recently the prices, in particular the wine prices, have been hiked up beyond reason. I recently bought a bottle of red wine, decent wine admittedly, and it came in at �18.00. A few months back the same wine was �14.00. These are not pub prices anymore and even the bar staff have admitted that they are fed up of people complaining about the bar prices. And apparently there are more rises to come. Also, it is now full of older teenagers, nursing one pint all night, taking up valuable seating space and not paying their way. A lot of the locals seems to have gone and it has been mentioned by a few that there seems to be an edge to the place now, whereas it has always been warm and wecolming. It is such a shame that this is happening. It is a fabulous pub, much improved by the lady owners but its success is also starting to become its downfall. Shame.

I have been going to the Barn since it opened in year god knows. It is under new landlods now and I agree with the other guy that the new landlords have made a massive difference by cleaning it up. It is by far the busiest pub in Nailsea and best pub. Thank god us Nailsonians say as Nailsea itself is dead from the toes up. I think the Nailsea council want the area shut down after 6pm at night!
Great beers that cahnge with guest ales as well. Good selection of cider. I also agree that a little more effort could be taken with some food even if just hot pies and pasties. We all need to eat when we guzzle,right!! They are having a few venues such as the last New Years Eve bash that was based on 1920's which was great. They need to introduce more live music as it's well away from residential areas but I guess Nailsea Town Council will put a stop to that. This pub is a big threat to other pubs in Nailsea as the Landlords (2 girls) are always active in thinking of new ideas to get the punters in. Great pub and packed solid every weekend all year.

I don't normally leave multiple reviews for the same pub, but I'm going to make an exception in this case as nobody else has. It's undoubtedly the best pub in Nailsea, and arguably the best in Nailsea (the other contender being the Ring o'Bells).
Since my previous review new landlords have taken over and made a few changes, although the essential atmosphere of the pub remains. They've tidied up the toilets, cleaned up the cobwebs, put up a notice board and encouraged use by various community groups. The pub seems to have extended out in to the garden with an several undercover areas consisting not only of wooden benches, but leather sofa's complete with heaters and lighting - great for the smokers.
There are a number of barrel's racked up behing the bar including Doom Bar, Butcombe, London Pride, Tribute and Sharp's Red Ale. Also Thatcher's Dry, Ashton Press and Black Rat ciders (the latter also being straight from the barrel).

This is a cracking pub, well worth searching out. As others had said, beers straight from the barrel and a good choice of real cider's too.
Not much in the way of food, maybe a roll if you're lucky and a good selection of crisps! A nice outside area, with quite a bit of seating.
The one downside was that it used to get quite smoky in there, but now that's no longer a problem there's no excude not to pop in.

Almost impossible to find if you're not equipped with maps and patience, but well worth it.
Beer is straight from barrels on stillage and is in good condition. the range is fairly small, but it varies throughout the month.
Inside is a bit eclectic, as mentioned previously it's basically a tarted-up barn and there's lots of old tat/interesting paraphernalia scattered around, along with some cobwebs (don't go if spiders give you the heebee-jeebies!).
A nice atmosphere pervades inside.
Well worth the trip, will return.

Brilliant little pub. Four gravity-fed real ales, four ciders and a wide selection of wine by the glass.
It is - literally - an old barn with a bar across one end. The cobwebs from its former life are still in place, so don't expect sprkly clean. Having said that, the atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and great - expecially in summer when you can sit outside alongside the stream.

Set back from the road between Wraxall and Nailsea, behind the Wraxall House Hotel, this converted barn offers excellent beer straight from the barrel (Bass, Smiles, Landlord's Own, Moles and others), as well as copious amounts of Guinness (the landlord, Tony, enjoys the occasional pint or three!). No food except for Wed to Fri lunchtimes. Normal entrance is through the 'lounge' with old armchairs around a roaring log fire in the winter, and a long bar serves the regular pissheads next door. A little dark and dingy, but a great atmosphere, especially when Tony's had a few (don't take anything he says to heart when he is - sticks and stones..). No juke box, but easy-listening choice of background music from CD's, including Sinatra, Eagles, Nat King Cole etc. Beer garden to the front and side, with free use of barbeques in the summer (or if you're mad, in the winter too!)
