Now 'Thieves Kitchen' - after an impressive refurbishment.
However, their distancing/seating protocols - in respect of coranovirus - are simply ridiculous.
Having been shown to my table - at the rear portion of the large upstairs lounge - I was expected to memorise the table number, and retrace my steps downstairs to order at the bar.
And then to return upstairs to my table - to await delivery of the solitary drink. The staff member - who showed me from the front door, to my table - wasn't permitted to take the drink order.
I left and walked over to the Warwick Arms - where I ordered, paid and collected - at the bar.

Very much a drink after work pub, food is ok and not expensive. I love this pub as it is vibrant and music is uptodate and you get a feel good factor. Would personally avoid it when footie on as it is heaving and not a pleasant experience . Not nice when emply. Bar staff are good and always look busy. They also chat to customers assuming they know them of course. Not a place for a quiet drink with the other half and and al la carte really

This pub looks fairly impressive from the outside, however this is spoilt when you go inside and encounter the staff!
I will not be returning.

The large windows make it easy to see that this pub has nothing worth drinking so just walk on by. I've done it several times this week.

Had freebie pint vouchers for me and the wife, so headed there when we first got to Worthing. Nice pint of GK IPA, (always tastes good when it's free !). Good layout and bigger than it appears to be. Very pleasant sitting out front watching the world strole by on a sunny day. The staff seem friendly and approachable. Although we didn't eat here, I know most generic GK pubs do good, reasonably price food. Well set up for the footie, and a couple of pool tables in a side room. Definitely give this one a look.

Yes, this is a really good pub for watching the footie, whether you're on your own or with mates/girlfriend. Sometimes gets too packed, specially if there's a Chelsea/Man U match on, so the Warwick is just yards away, also showing footie.

I regularly visit this pub and I love it! The bar staff invented banter and have a fantastic rapport with all the customers, old and new alike. I have to agree that the toilets are in dire need of attention but this is one for the pub company to address no doubt! As far as myself, my friends and my work colleagues are concerned... this is the best establishment in Worthing for food, drink, friendly banter, sport and general good fun. Some people visiting this pub unfortunately seem to have had a personality bypass... never mind my friends, we can't all love the same places, otherwise there would only be the need for 1 pub in each town. Be grumpy elswhere... you won't be missed :)))

No ale on sunday...so walked out. Girlfriend came out horrified and discusted with state of toilets.

Looking at Bikers comment and LOBs account of his treatment as a Blues supporter in my view they can stick their pub.

Went to watch the cup final at this pub, Chelsea v Spurs. Has 2 big screens.
Pub was full and of good nature.
The only complaints I have are that the beer was served in plastic pots and when I went to get a round the blonde barmaid asked me if I supported Chelsea or spurs. When I told her Chelsea she said " Well I'm not serving you then" and walked off. At first I thought she was joking but she never returned and I had to wait another 5 minutes to get served.
The gents toilets are in desperate need of a revamp.

What an absolute TOILET!! In fact it's difficult to know where the Gents toilet ends and the pub begins. An unpleasant aroma of toilet disinfectant blocks permeates the air around a fair proportion of the zone near the toilet doors, rendering at least two large tables useless as the smell is so overpowering! Toilet itself is a disgrace - the floor was so wet I thought that I'd stumbled into a small stream! In fact the only saving grace of this pub was the girl behind the bar who when bending to the table to collect empty glasses showed off her rather ample and very attractive cleavage. AVOID AT ALL COSTS unless you are one of the Worthing meatheads who probably thinks that this pub is the bees knees.

Remember it as teh Thieves just - under the days of LLoyds managemnet it wasn't a bad pub - until the dreaded DJ box arrived - i even remeber him asking my mates and i what we thought of teh DJ box - think we were to polite/sober at the timne to say we thought it was a shite idea - needless to say we soon started giving the place a miss.

too full of the shirt brigade for my liking, didn't notice any decent beer. didn't want to stay, bring back the duke box with she sells sanctuary, oh well, too late
|
Bring back the Thieves Kitchen with its sticky carpet, barrel tables and The Cult's 'She Sells Sanctuary' on the video juke box !!

Not bad. Sometimes decent indie music dependent on the DJ. Too many aggressive idiots (as with ALL of Worthing), and bar staff are hardly friendly - got called a "faggot" for not downing my drink by the barmaid last time I was there. Charming. Bone-headed bouncers on the door at weekends, which is obviously always a delight to see, but it has a decent pool table and John Smiths on tap, so not all bad!

this pub used to be the best pub in town, but im sorry to say it has gone way down hill since lloyd and tina left, maybe greene king are getting just abit to big for themselfs.

Sorry to break the mould but this is quite a bad pub. Very bad service, UNFRIENDLY atmosphere, TV broke down twice on three occasions and don;t even get me started on the beer...

Always a good night out at the Vinters, usually very busy with a good atmosphere. Drinks are a bit expensive, but following refurb I don't mind paying the prices.

Had a fantastic night at the Vintners with DJ Eddie and the staff are all talking about the refurb which will let it hold 750 people when the sports on. Gotta be the place to watch England

This pub has recently been catching on about whats popular in worthing... KARAOKE!!! (everybody loves it!) It recently lost its licence for the karaoke system... but its gonna be back twice a week!!! The combination between Eddie J and the madness of everybody participating is too good to miss... Oh, and nice beer too... Maybe a tad too expensive.... but just a tad!
