Slug and Lettuce now. Nice young ladies serving behind the bar. Pleasant inside with plenty of places to sit. Peroni which is nothing special is nearly £4 a pint. I would say it is more of an eatery than a place to guzzle ten pints.

It's now a Slug and Lettuce, who obviously don't pay the money to update this site! It has become the preferred starting point for many of my colleagues, mainly because they do cocktails and Peroni on tap, which seems to be the current fashionable pint. Very pricey, nearly 4 for one of their more exotic lagers. Food is also pricey but, in my experience, you get large portions and one of their sharing platter will easily go between six.

This does not exist any more. It has been taken over by another chain who's name escapes me.

Much nicer now it has been turned into a Slug and Lettuce

Shut as a Hogshead and re-opening as a Slug and Lettuce in a few days time.

Very pleasant on a warm sunny lunchtime when they open up the front and you can sit on the comfy seats in the warm and watch the world (well Beckenham) go by!
|
It's the sort of place where you get ID'd for being TOO OLD!! A teenyboppers' heaven.

I went there for the first time the other day and had a really good night. It was a thursday and they were doing karaoke. They was a really nicr atmosphere about the place... a little bit over-priced but i had a good night and thats all that matters

Pretty good pub out of the choice in Beckenham, good food and ales. DJ on Friday nights, great for watching footie and rugby - definately less chavs these days. Worth a visit - has no late licence on the weekend though

Excellent ales and table service. Bit of a sports bar and atmosphere can revolve around what footy/rugby is on.

Great staff, very clean and worth a visit if you're "doing" Beckenham for an evening. Can get a bit noisy with the lowish ceiling and the stone floor, but has a cafe type atmosphere with the front doors open in the summer. Never seen any trouble in there and it does pub-standard food quite well.

Top Marks for this Pub. Good vibe, gets crowded at weekends but quick table service is huge bonus. Only drawback is pool table which seems to be magnet for local chavscum.

This pub lacks atmosphere.

anusol says the quiz night is Wednesday, but the pub has been refurbed since then & now the quiz night is on Mondays. Really busy at week-ends. Good staff there.

One of the better pubs in Beckenham. Gets busy at weekends, and extremely busy on quiz nights (wednesday) but thats probably due to the jackpot which was 500 last week.
