The Wayfarer was my first stop in Parbold on Sunday evening. It was packed with a rather large car park that was full with cars queuing for spaces. Inside was just as busy and uncomfortably so. Whilst this is the home of the Problem Child brewery, the pub is primarily for diners with drinkers only having the space around the bar. With the bar area full, I stood near the diners. Ales from Problem Child were Child Rascal & Scoundrel. Guests were also a decent range - Dark Star American Brown Ale & Southport Carousel. The real cider was Seacider Strawberry, a new one for me. Has some very good points. But on the reverse side, it was too busy and uncomfortable to enjoy.

Now ever more food orientated than before. Three cask ales and a cask cider were available, although the bar staff seemed to prioritise sorting out glasses over serving waiting customers.

I am writing a review as I think it is important to share experiences all I can say is avoid this place like the plague, the food is over priced and below average the owners are rude and unhelpful they are unwilling to recognise a complaint the way in which they speak to staff is embarrassing to observe I will not be returning.

Good food (a bit dearer than average pub food, but well worth it) and well kept cask ales. Worth a visit!

One of the best, if not the best restaurant/pub i've ever been to. Extensive A la carte, bar and special menus. Good servive and superb food at a resonable price. Highly recommended

Good beer, food looked good though not sampled. Car park full of big 4x4's but not a farmer in sight.

Excellent home cooked food at reasonable prices. Oldie world style furnishing. Must be experienced

Plenty of character although has been a little over modernised. Good food and beer. Friendly. Fairly upmarket.
