A stunning garden and plenty of outside private covered seating areas
It’s the only pub in the village which itself is a beauty to behold
Well worth stopping for food or a refreshing drink on a summers day

They were preparing for the village Jubilee party later that evening when we arrived a fortnight ago and we didn't hang around too long as it seemed to be very much locals only. Flack Manor Romsey Gold and Palmers Copper Ale served straight from the pin although it didn't strike me as a proper real ale pub.

I wandered in on the off chance when in the area, although this had been recommended by friends who live in Dorchester.
What a lovely pub, a very nice menu, I'd recommend the haddock and horseradish fish cakes! I would recommend booking as it did get busy on a Thursday lunchtime!
Also, Cerne Abbas brewery Tiger Tom straight from the barrel! A lovely dark more'ish beer! Plus Palmers Copper.
I'll certainly call in again when I'm back in the area!

Can't really understand the negative comment below (unless it was an "off day"-- something every place has). This is a really nice village pub that knows what it is about. Good choice of well-kept beers (from the Piddle Valley Brewery) and a very nice local cider available. A VERY good menu indeed. This place deserves its fairly high reputation. 8/10

A splendid village pub with a cosy feel. Ringwood bitter was well kept and the food is excellent and good value, especially the Sunday roasts. Occasional folk music nights are worth looking out for. Doggy friendly too - brilliant!

We visited this pub whilt on holiday in the local area and were so pleased with the food, friendly welcome and overall atmosphere that we returned many more times that week! The Landlord & Landlady have taken over this pub around a year ago and revamped the premises with particular emphasis being placed on the food/wines being improved. They informed us that they try to use local produce as much as they can and grow their own veg. Everything is prepared with great care and it shows! Whilst not being a gourmet menu, they prepare very good quality, simple food, with care. The portions are excellent and provide very good value for money. The staff were extremely welcoming and it is dog friendly if you wish to take along your canine friend. (Although not in the restaurant) The garden is very pretty and well maintained. Overall, this is well worth a visit and the diversion of the A35 to try it out! We will be back again!

Excellent country pub, with tasty and wholesome home cooked food, nice atmosphere and great garden. Ideal pub for summer pint, sunday lunch or cosy winter meal.

me and my brother use it alot the foods great and so is the beer
on thursdays the have a curry club �4.99 with a pint
excellent its a true and real pub come and see 4 yourself
