Nice old style pub. Airy with lots of tables and plenty of original features.
Only 2 beers on tap, and the Sussex Best which I drank was excellent. Food was very good, we had the roast and I was stuffed.
They have a beer garden which looks a terrific sun trap and the staf were very friendly and helpful.
The place perhaps lacks a certain spark but as I visited on a Sunday I could do with going there on a Thurs/Fri/Sat night to get a real grasp of its atmosphere.
Recommended, but it's unlikely to be the sort of place that'll blow you away.

Comfortable pub, well furnished with 3 ales on tap - not sure about the 'Clydefest' house ale, won't drink it if I don't don't know who brews it, so went for the Harvey's Sussex best bitter. They also did Crouch Vale Brewers Gold. Good pub.

Large pub, tables and chairs outside the front plus a beer garden out the back, quite comfortable, some of the furniture is fashionably knackered. 2 real ales on at 3.30 a pint, quality was reasonable, watch out for the occasional short measure.

Large-ish, mainly open plan pub with plenty of tables anbd chairs along with the odd sofa and armchair. They had two ales on Harveys and Redemption IPA. Am normally a fan of Redmeption ales but though it was just about drinkable this was the worse pint of their ales I've come across. Didn't fancy trying anything else as a result.

The best pub in the area by quite some distance. Great choice of guest ales with Sambrooks Wandle a regular favourite. The food is really excellent and even better now that they've stopped serving everything on wooden planks and invested in some plates. There's always a good choice and they make changes regularly though the fish & chips is hard to beat. My main reason for really liking the Clyde though is the excellent pub quiz each Monday - with the added bonus of the quiz special pint and a meal for a tenner. Highly highly recommended. Ignore the photos on BITE - they're from a previous incarnation.

This pub is in the Good Beer Guide and rightly so , their recent ale festival was very good with 12 on stillage and 3 on hand pump . Dark Star stood out , must try to go there again soon .

This pub was fairly quiet yesterday lunchtime considering it isn't too far from the Emirates stadium and it was a matchday. You get the sense that a modern makeover has taken any sort of atmosphere away from the pub. Although the bar itself is original. Didn't try the food and we didn't find the other clientele offensive. Three real ales were available - Harveys Sussex Best, Everards Tiger and Sambrook's Wandle Ale. Cider is from Aspalls.

Great Pub. Fun decked area out the back and good food on the go. Shame about the location on the busy Essex Road, but a welcom addition to this fairly grotty area.

Nice pub, decent food & good beer. Unfortunately it seems to have suffered the overspill from The Old Queens Head the Mockey & Cockney geezers who enjoy nothing more than a good nights shouting and the occasional physical interaction with one another, e.g. a punch delivered to the upper part of your friends arm. This interaction is often accompanied by the (friendly) use of a derogatory term, e.g. c**t or nonce, which effectively serves to inspire renewed vigour in the shouting.
If you ever saw yourself as the real-life counterpart to a Guy Richie character, this is the pub for you.

Chuck, Thanks for that but I'm still not sure. Food good, beer good but, overall, would you say the Clyde is a nice relaxing place to spend the evening or not?

Not been in this pub before despite living in the area. Dark, woody and cosy. Definately a place to hunker down in Winter. Didn't have food but the menu looked ok. Enthusiastic barman/landlord seemed keen on beer so hopefully real ale will be a feature.

I think some of these reviews may be bogus. None the less, not bad little pub. Needed one like that right there. New managers are walking the tight rope and doing well enough. Good cold clean beer. Should have seen it last year.

Ventured to this pub on a Friday night as had been recommended by some friends that live in the area. Lovely and spacious, with big leather sofas and a very friendly atmosphere. We were a party of 5 and had drinks first before deciding on dinner later on having seen the very tempting offerings that had been coming out of the kitchen throughout the evening! Good variety on the menu and reasonably priced. Food was really tasty, well presented and good portion sizes. Really enjoyed it and would definetely head back.

I went here yesterday for Sunday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. As this was my first visit to this area of London and having driven up the somewhat unfriendly Essex Rd my expectations were not high. However entering the pub the feel of the place is warm and their eclectic mix of tables and chairs makes the ambience somewhat cosy.Their Sunday Roasts of beef and pork were good and the portion sizes were just right.Their normal food menu looks very appetising and has something for everyone. They have a good array of beers and wines and the two owners are very pleasant and accomodating. There is obvious room for improvement but a great addition to the area for people who live their which was lacking such a 'homely' pub with as they say 'honest pub food'.This is pub is well worh a visit if you are in the area or a local.

What an unexpected delight. Not been in this neck of the woods for some time and this pub has clearly had a complete transformation on all fronts. It was a combination of 'good old traditonal pub' with an individual and unique twist. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed with low lights and a soft buzz, and a mix of people. The staff were friendly, and the food was great - a real welcome break from the standard frozen food pub grub that you often get. It was all homemade, v.tasty and good value. Would definitely go again!
