This pub is great, wonga was in a right state when we piled in after the game, landlady didn't kick us out, very understanding, so to make it up to her we took her upstairs and both made her sing some gooney tunes, shame about her chevy chase, but you dont look at the mantle piece when you stoking the fire, five minutes apiece back door, up the arsenal, they have a great wine list in here, could do with a better snack selection. After a pie a mash.... Kilometrepork walked in.. So it was back upstairs for another sesh, unfortunately gigolo got The Gush! Got taken away in a jam wagon, groin going off like a sick snake.

Hi,
Yes I used to go to that pub but, as a proper Arsenal fan, I would say it is definitely not what it used to be ...
It is now more like a family pub suitable for middle class people enjoying soft drinks on a sunny Sunday afternoon!

came in here for some lunch with the fella and although neither of us are very local to the place it was nice enough.

food was good and arrived in a reasonable time. neither of us are sports fans so the fact that neither of us liked the noise of the footie just about to start was a bit of a turn off. i'd imagine it's perfect for sports fans who want a good seat in front of the tv (there are several widescreens dotted about in convenient places) only had a chance to have a sneaky half so can't really say much for the drinks.

Brilliant place to go on matchdays and is always a place i visit before a game. Good lively atmosphere and good beer. A must visit before a game.

Surprisingly unrowdy even on home match days. Not a bad place to to talk football and get hammered in - if that's your pint of Foster's.

gone downhill the last year with many arsenal fans deserting it.It seems the surly landlord may have finally killed the pub off,has the feel of a pub being run down then converted into the dreaded flats!

I'm surprised to not see more and current reviews here.

Overall, a great local. Brilliant atmosphere on (home) match days and a good place to sit and watch away matches (or other teams) without someone's cigarette or elbow in your face.

Spacious, comfy chairs, friendly staff, good screens and your standard choice of drink.

I've heard it used to have a bad reputation for safety and hooligans hanging about, but I don't see any of that these days. Dont let the big, scary-looking bouncers put you off (unless youre the type who goes round looking for trouble in which case, please dont even come here!).

A small group of locals always seem to be hanging about no matter what time of the day it is - a bit off-putting when everyone turns round and stares at you like you've just come off a spaceship - but you get that anywhere, so you just have to get over it.

They always seem to be trying out new ways to use the back room (ie bands, etc), none of which I've attended, but I've picked up the leaflets and it seems well enough. They don't have much trade when the football's not on, and have probably lost some since supporters no longer need to make the trek up Blackstock Road to the stadium.

Although I'm sure they've considered it, bringing in food would be excellent and could really help to boost trade and bring in other types of people during the slower periods. Only one of the other local pubs serves food (Thai), so some decent pub grub would be great - especially a nice Sunday Roast, which you can't even get around here!

Great pub with friendly bar staff....especially the gorgeous Migs. Locals are friendly if a bit strange but hey this is London!!!! Met a great bloke in there.... didnt catch his name unfortunately but he was sort of ginger and great fun. Will definately be returning when im next in town. Highly recommended.

I haven't been in there since the final game of the 2001/2002 season, when my father and I were waiting 25 minutes to be served, and were still 2 back from the bar. .. and it wasn't a particularly busy day!!!

On the plus side, it's handy for the football, and welcomes fans of visiting clubs.

Aboslutely teh best pub to watch the football in (if you're an Arsenal fan of course!) Went here for the first time with my husband and was expecting to feel very intimidated by the die hard Arsenal supporters who were predominantly men butit was absolutely brilliant- only bad thing was that we lost to Manchester United.

Quite recently renovated, we remember when it was a dodgily decorated old mans' pub with oodles of charm and the tiniest pool table in history. Still, however, a very decent pub. The staff are lovely, and it's very spacious with a good choice of beers. Perfect pub to watch the match in, with big screens and fast service. We love it!
