Did a little tour of the area on a Saturday afternoon and as this bar was on BITE I sought it out. It was closed but looking through the windows it looks to have a bit of a minimalist theme. Looks like its in an old converted workshop and a bit out of keeping with its surroundings. However its in an area with a lot of development going on so I expect it will do reasonable business for a couple of years.

To meet up with someone after work, this place is great- centrally located, spacious, easy to get what you want from the bar and not crowded. Tapas were an excellent choice, and happily fed two people. After 9 or so, though, when sort of irritating music starts blasting, it becomes hard to hear and chat, so time to move on!

The best thing about this venue was it was an oasis in Kings Cross for a decent drink and some food after work. Note the past tense. Now it's blown out of the water by Camino round the corner in particular, along with all the other new places that have come along with the big KX clean-up. A pioneer certainly, but will it last beyond novelty status? It's always very quiet these days, in the week at least, so you're guaranteed a seat; it's been lacking any atmosphere since they painted over their back wall...

I don't know what the people below who didn't like the food are talking about - the lunchtime food in particular is amazing and one of my favourite places in London. Always fresh, creative and delicious. Evening tapas are less glamorous but the chips/mayo go down a treat with a glass of wine. St Chad's is still the best place in King's Cross.

Amazing place in the middle of Kings Cross. A real gem!!! I couldn't believe something that stylish and cool exists in that area. Go here at least twice a week for lunch (which is delicious and always exciting as it changes every week) and usually I also end up coming here almost every Friday (or sometimes even Thursdays..eeek) for drinks with my girls. St Chad's is really what we needed here in Kings Cross and I can only tell ya: Give it a shot!!! Believe me, you'll LOVE it!!!

Don't eat here..ever Just hang around in what is a huge shed, BUT it is expensive enough to scare away the drossmonkeys of KX.

Barmen more interested in chatting up lasses than serving customers. Occasionally has real ale (Bombardier) but not permanently.

Lunchtime food is delicious and unlike anything else you can get in the area - imaginative dishes and always fresh. If you want a greasy burger/chips there are plenty of other places to go in King's X.
Evenings are more geared up for drinking so can't say I've tried the tapas. Great DJ's and a really friendly atmosphere. Still the best place in King's Cross.

The food is terrible - if you want a dry, stale pizza with some tomato puree on top, then this is the place. The tapas is also pretty bland. Has some decent beers, but is quite a strange set up with the tables arranged a bit like a student common room, creating an atmosphere not quite up to the mark.

You have to be determined to find this place, tucked away down an alleyway/sewer, but it creates a small sense of exclusivity! It is remarkably good for the KX area, the food looks well priced and on a weekday evening you can always get a seat. Seems to play a lot of late 90s tunes as well at the moment, but every week the draught beer is flat or poured very badly - shame. Stick to bottles or the large wine list.

Very cool imaginative bar. Nice change for KIngs Cross! Not the cheapest place in the world though.

I went to 6 St Chads Place after seeing it on here, as we wanted somewhere slightly more salubrious to meet than the station pubs at Kings Cross. We were pretty impressed, although I got there at 5.45pm on a Friday and there was pretty much no where to sit. House wine was good, and I loved the building with it's high ceilings. I'd definitely recommend it as an alternative if you've got time to kill waiting for your train.

Quite A wierd set up, but I found the atmosphere quite cool early on. but on a friday night it can become quite a trendy place to hang out. with lots of lovely ladies having a good time. The staff I encountered were great, one to mention was an Ozzie called Evan, who makes a mean cocktail, likes to please. has a laugh and seems to be a hit with the ladies. go down check it out, Kings cross seems to be on the rise again.

What a great place! I found 6 St Chads while I was lost looking for another pub. Well I am really glad I got lost because the cocktails were fantastic and the staff so friendly. I have been back three times since with more friends and have made it my new local.
