Sad it has been demolished.I used to go here three or four times a week when I worked in Manchester 20 years ago.It was very cheap and the beer was good but it was never that busy.

Demolished!

Not surprised to be honest, it always had problems attracting customers i'm afraid. Still, it was reasonably convivial by Holts standards and the beer was normally spot on. Another pub bites the dust!

THIS PUB HAS NOW CLOSED.
I live near this and can report that it is closed with all the windows boarded up.

Good pub, something of a hidden gem. Beer was excellent and well kept, typical Holts pub really. Friendly bar staff, decent clientele. Interesting piccies on the wall as well if your a boxing fan.

A contender for a last pint before catching the train at Victoria. Atmosphere seemed like a working mens local, friendly and sociable, with no hint of menace despite the walls covered in pictures of boxers. All in all not bad, and far better than the nearby Ducie Bridge.

Another Holt's establishment, this is a large corner pub surrounded by new buildings. The pub has high ceilings and the bar is situated in a corner on the left as you enter. A separate room to the right has a pool table. There were four handpumps, three without clips. The fourth sold Holt's Bitter. There were two keg beers, also from Holt's, called Black and Smooth. Again, my pint of bitter was fine. The pub was almost empty mid-afternoon Saturday.

A very well kept pint of holt's best was quaffed, quick friendly service too, 7/10

Old-fashioned street corner local with pleasant enough interior. It's on the edge of the city centre, just 2 minutes from Manchester Victoria and probably a better bet than the nearby Ducie Bridge. A mixture of regulars and students/yuppies from the new flats across the way. Pool table and big screen. Holt's bitter cheap and acceptable enough. Nothing to go out of your way for, but not a bad pub at all.

OK Holts Bitter (no Mild anymore).

I have been in the crown and cushion quite recently and just too let everyone know that the loud mouthed dog has GONE!!! as new land lady and partner TOP COUPLE make u feel welcome excellent beer on tap!! GREAT BAR STAFF!! if u were even going in to have a nice quiet game of pool believe me u will love it as u get roped into getting on the teams for both pool and darts and believe me u can't say no as u know u really wanna!! lol. As everyone knows there has been a crappy no-smoking ban in all the pubs and clubs but the crown and cushion has got the best smoking shelter out the back that i have seen yet and i go out a lot ha ha JUST VISIT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!

Spent a few hours in the pub before a concert at The New Century Hall. Holts wasn't up to much. It was very busy World Cup and fact that The Ducie up the road was closed didn't help. Landlord's Dog barking all the time isn't exactly appealing. Can't say I'd rush back

I have a great-great uncle who was the victualer for the Crown and the Cushion according to the 1871 census located at 140 Long Milgate oon the Salford Border with M/C. Would this be the same one and is there anyway I can find more information about this pub?
