terrible service, the man behind the bar refused to serve us, despite our producing ID, only later would he sell us alcohol, then refused our friend being allowed on site on the grounds that we were drinking and that 'we may give him some' even though we gave no indication of this and it was before 9pm so he had no legal right nor reason to do this other than personal reasons. At no stage had we raised our voices, yet he kept being aggressive, even more so when we produced the actual law that said our friend is allowed on site as long as he is accompanied by an adult, which we proved ourselves to be with our IDs, and went on to threaten to ban us all from the pub, to which my friend then said he would leave because it wasn't worth the hassle. Truly poor service and we felt deeply insulted, wouldn't recommend. despite what people say that this is a student pub, when they treat students like how we were treated, i find that hard to believe.

Very unusual for me to frequent places like this (crap for real ale, youngish clientele, etc) but owing to the criminal paucity of pubs down the hill, I tend to visit in mid-week.
Think it's recently changed hands(?) - anyway, the lager off the tap's improved a tad (not saying much) and they now have free wi-fi. Also one of the few places down the hill with a beer garden. Decent in the summer for people watching and perving on the studenty girls that come in...
|
What has happened to this place???
Used to be rammed on a Thursday through to Sunday..
now COMPLETELY DEAD! No DJs, no music, no Karaoke, no people nothing!
Shuts early usually because its so quiet, only a handful of people in there at peak evening times.
Junction is dead. RIP.
|
been going to this pub on and off for about 8 years, and sad to say it got a lot worse, the bar staff dont give a shit unless your there mate,so takes ages to get a drink, i dont recomend the food etheir. its mostly full 18 to 25 year old kids, most of them are ok, but theres a lot of dicks down there too! its a good pub in the summer though if your sitting outside, and its always lively, theres a good jukebox in there aswell
|
Student pub with a few people from the local offices dthere during or after work. Not a bad pub, half decent food, half decent beer and a usual drink specials you'd expect to attract in the kids. I enjoy a drink there, especially in summer.
|
paradoxical pub. Understaffed at busy times. in the winter they refuse to open the upstairs bar and ease the overcrowding. in the summer, they ridiculously make the smokers go out onto the street rather than use their beer garden. food is hit and miss. guinness is awful. for some reason they get a DJ on a thursday night playing cheese which disperses people.
but after all that, i still come back. it's brilliant for football, especially watching the outdoor screen in the summer. it does help that most of the other pubs in the area are awful though.
|
The karaoke on a sunday is the best i've ever been to by far. It gets really busy, everyone is there for the karaoke. On a thursday it's also getting busy too, now there's a DJ on (the same one from the Karaoke). It is 100% the best karaoke show in Harrow.

went there last week for the first time in ages and it looks awsome, attitude changed alot and its regained its friendly get along with any one name, still good to see the old faces, probably still one of the best pubs in harrow
|
really nice after the refurb!! well classy inside and out, but still maintaining the student'y junction spirit
|
not a bad pub for cheap drinks on tuesdays
|
Been visiting this pub ever since Republica closed (Oh, those were happy days!). Easily the best pub in Harrow, and still consider it my local, although I now live in Watford. Unfortunately as Wealdstone seems to be creeping into Harrow, so does the scummier element of society seem to be creeping into even the nicer pubs in the area, this is something that has started to let not just the junction, but all the pubs in Harrow down, I fear even such lovely tranquil places as the Castle (on the hill) will soon be suffering!
We must take steps to get these Chav's and other lowlives out and back into the parks where they belong!

this pub is loved by me n all my mates- many a good night has been had here, and although not a pretty sight in the cold light of day, the junction is by far the best pub in harrow (especially the jukebox!!) pound-a-pint on tuesday is the best night out, n im loving the new bar staff, especially the twins ;) if your in harrow, make sure u come here!!!
|
popped in there for the first time on friday and thought it was ok. Mate told me it was chav free but despite having an awesome jukebox it was playing constant RnB bollocks. Strange sort of crowd in there, few alt kids mixed in with trendies and boyz from the hood wannabes, nice burger though
|
this pub is alright, love it in the summer evenings when the beer garden is packed but tuesday night aint the same when ur all rammed inside, still a good crack and even though the beer sometimes tastes well watery its better than supernanny on a tuesday!
|
This is the ultimate pub it has everything you would need... its best in summer as they have a bbq and outdoor bar with a massive beer garden. The staff are ok, they change all the time. Its best if your into the "alternative scene" as thats the general music played, but everyone should enjoy it. Tuesday is pound a pint which is LEGENDARY! the only problem is pool tables... people line up the coins and will be rgere all night sunday kareokee, and DJ's sometimes. If you are around harrow deffinately pay this pub a visit.
anonymous - 21 Mar 2006 16:08 |
this pub just aint what it use to be, although i still got my family there e.g abi, sean, kenny and the rest, long live pound a pint unless the new manager wants to change that aswell!!!
|
Let me start with a brief goodbye to venom; which goes along with saying goodbye to certain people staring and getting wet. Cough cough...you know who you are! This pub is all cool...not as great as it used to be but still throws some great nights, and days for that matter. Staff are all cool...its just the chav scum who occationlly turn up in their numbers which sucs - they must be scared. The women front varies but tuesday night is the night...pound a pint and trins. By the way the women applies to both genders nowerdays but its all good fun and games! most of the time! Id like to finish with saying thank the lord for sh*t holes like the rat and yates's...they keep a lot og the d*ckheads out! Bo!
|
Well I drink down here ebery day, I even have my own drink behind the bar. Place is cool, is a bit unusual and off the wall at times but if u jus wana chill n get drunk then this place is ideal. The ppl are sweet and so is the new bar staff. Beer garden is live during the summer n Trins aint bad either.
If u aint been b4 then just chill and go with it or else u won't like it. They have Time crisis 3 and also one new car game! The music is a bit heavy upstairs but its all good.
The best place to drink in Arra.
|
I like to go to this pub on sunny afternoons. I can get a bit too busy in the evening though and takes ages to get served. It has a jukebox too.
|
Wow,Thumbs up to the small blonde bar staff member with glasses! shes damn fine!!!!! one of the most attractive ive ever encountered! ;-)
Rated 10 for the above reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
OK, i'm a local to this pub and have been visiting it for a while. At first i loved it, but alas i was nieve. 5 years later i have finished uni and acquired a colourful experience of all types of bars both working and visiting. I returned each summer to be more and more disapointed. This year has been the final straw. The bar staff are very poor and don't know there drinks. (i ordered a cuba libre/ rum and coke, it comes back without a lime when i can see a pile of them behind the bar, so i ask politely for one, the drink comes back with a dash of lime cordial. i mean please whats that about) the people in the pub used to be friendly and it a somewhat of a student vibe (if only a v small pretentious one) now its chav city. The door staff, overbeering, rude and as soon as time is called your out, no drinkin up time or anything. I once approached a doorman about this, stating that it was M&B's policy to allow at least 20 mins drinkin time (i know this as i worked in an onneills around the corner) he denied it and very nearly ended up chuckin me out, an i was not the least bit agressive.
This pub has had its day, needs new staff and to get rid of the chavs, i'm sorely dissapointed, i find myself going much further afield, to champions in notting hill, or the defectors weald in shepards bush,

Suits you sir!! Okay I live 5 minutes from this place and it has everything you need really. Reasonably priced drinks (and let's be honest people, they ARE reasonable as the only pub in harrow thats cheaper is our beloved MOOOONS), Music consists of a Video Juke box. A little stage has been put in now and live bands (or whatever) will be appearing soon. 2 pool tables and a smaller one out in the garden when the weather is nice. Two big screens for the sport when it's on, a great menu for food, good staff and EVERYBODY IS WELCOME. Monday night - POOL COMPETITION - 2 per person, one game knockout, winner takes all. Tuesday night - POUND A PINT from 7pm on selected lines Thursday night - POUND A PINT again but with DJ SLIM playing the tunes (a lot of cheese mainly but everyone who is there enjoys it - young and old alike) Sunday night - KARAOKE from 8 or so onwards. THURS, FRI and SAT open till 1am SUNDAY till 12am.
Now let's be brutally honest. You can't please all the people all of the time but if this doesn't sound like your cup of tea, then fair do's. It's changed a lot in the last 10 years, but as many others on this site have mentioned "it's what you make it, it's who you meet and it's who you're there with". So come along and try it out and if you don't like it then fine. I like other pubs too, but the one's that are not to my taste i won't say "steer clear". Know aht i mean? NICE!!!!!!!
Were you out with a young lady last night sir? Ooooh!!!! SUITS YOU SIR!!!!!!
|
A cracking pub, even for a 30 something like me - on first glance you may feel like you have accidentally stumbled in to the bar from STAR WARS. There are some sights, horrendously dressed young women with bits spilling out and piercings, who shriek at each other whilst puking up brightly coloured alcho-pops in the loos and an array of young confused people participating in party tricks (setting light to farts etc.) all this said - it is a fun pub, with a generally really good atmosphere, anyone will talk to you, especially if they want to share the red leather bed in the bar with you (might not be there now). Having moved away a year ago this is the only pub in harrow I am ever likely to visit again. It is exactly what it appears, 'a pub full of weird people '(mostly young but also 30+ No under agers at all) out for a laugh, scruffy, disorganised, manic, packed full, reasonably priced, hugely popular summer hangout for students and 'kids at heart'. open late too. but dont go on a football day as gets packed with drunken chavs and atmosphere is v bad. shame!
|
The place where everyone knows everyone, the place can seem a little intimidating if you've not been there much before because of the fact everyone knows everyone. I felt that way when i started drinking there a few years ago. Was a regular but now i'm in norwich. This place is always the place the makes me feel as though i'm home. summer 2004 they seemed to sort the problem of lack of bar staff, but even more and opening the upstairs more often could be improvements. and bring back the giant Connect 4! It seems as though theres something going on every night down there. 'tis truely the greatest pub i've ever been to.
quote// Have only been there once and seeing as I have not got blue hair and my eyeballs pierced and i am over 18,won't be going there again.
Greg - 1 Mar 2004 19:58 //end quote
So you met me then? :D

Strange place. Always seems a bad vibe
anonymous - 25 Dec 2004 22:44 |
Its an ok pub, a bit dodgy in the fact that it doesn't seem to stock any wine glasses (really student). A little too harsh on the ID thing, I'm 24 and get ID'd every time I go, I don't mind but its a pain when you forget ID and refused entry when all your mates get let in.
Pamela - 5 Nov 2004 14:25 |
dont blame bar staff, its a busy pub, its impossible to serve everyone at the same time im sure. they need to get rid of football, then there would be less kevs and more friendly people who dont want to end thier night with a fight.. keep it alternative you'll have less trouble..the bar staff roool..regulars dont get served first, and no one under 18 is served so thats rubbish too xx cheers
tim - 23 Oct 2004 19:30 |
Good place cool people - we enjoyed ourselves.
Tanya - 28 Sep 2004 17:38 |
A nice pub - full of grungers if thats what your in to, massive beer garden which had a marque showing England playing on outdoor big screen which was brilliant but getting to the bar is a nightare. better than Trinity and Moons, but then thats not hard.
Scotty - 28 Sep 2004 17:37 |
Love this place. It was my home away from home while I was there. Great staff as well... And the bouncers rocked!
|
Great pub! People complain its just a student bar but its nice to know that you won't have old blokes staring at you all night. The bouncers are great and I've never seen any fights. They've come down hard on ID's so you don't get the kiddies taking up space! Can get crowded but all in all its a friendly atmosphere with loads of different people to meet. Great music too!
Sarah - 29 Aug 2004 21:02 |
EXCELLENT PUB! I'm from canada and was just recently in england we loved the atmosphere at the junction so much that we went everynight! everyone is so nice i definatly recomend it if your a tourist looking for the local scene. Thanks again!
laura - 25 Aug 2004 14:36 |

dan evans - 7 Aug 2004 11:40 |
Haha this is well funny i actually know names on this comment list! The junction is a cool place, alot more mainstream now then it used to be, was very alternative once upon a time, wish it still was! And just to say! i wash, and im 21! and most of my mates over 20 go there. Pounda pint twice a week till 1am, could you ask for more? Will even play your cd's upstairs!
nick - 19 Jul 2004 19:17 |
Only been going here for a short time and have made many new friends. The Junction is a nice pub and has become my local now. You can go in here and people really do not Judge you. just wish I was a student again and had a yellow card!
|
Gregg, Tremaine, Mr Shankly, Gav, Psmyyle, and Mike!!!! Just a thew names i will mention! you guys need to lighten up and stop being so judgemental!!!! Junction is a pub were you can be yourself and have a great night with out being judged!! people like you guys are your typical narrow-minded prej'udice saddo's! we dont people like you in sociaty let alone the juction!!!!! so thankyou for your comments, but no thanks. and by the way im not 16 im 20!!!!!! alan, rob, bobby, martha, and dave rule!!!
Bianca, Hannah, and Carley - 24 Apr 2004 15:12 |
junction is our second home! alan is the man! a pint is dangerous as it get me well drunk! dont knock it an can rude boy selectas stay away!!! all our love to the junction massive
|
Good night out if your looking to chill out with some mates, friendly atmosphere with good music. Drink a little on the side, but apart from that, it's all good!
Jez - 11 Apr 2004 19:09 |
The junction is wicked on a sunday, the best karaoke atmosphere everyone cheers even if u are poo!! Student pub granted, but it is fun and a great place to go when the cash is low and you want a pint and a laugh!
k - 8 Apr 2004 23:15 |
I've got a a lot of mates, that love this place. classy place with great atmosphere, beats boozers in the city for prices and friendliness hands down.
Smazzle - 26 Mar 2004 15:46 |
Have only been there once and seeing as I have not got blue hair and my eyeballs pierced and i am over 18,won't be going there again.
Greg - 1 Mar 2004 19:58 |
It's full of kiddies. literally. i know people who in lunch breaks at high school or the first year of college have said "dya wanna go down Junction?" to which i reply. maybe... when you learn to speak english and grow up a bit. any getting off the point. badly laid out poor seating especially in winter. there are much better places to go... if tyou are looking for an "altrenative scene" then why not make the short hop over to camden to The Devonshire arms? oh well.
Tremaine - 24 Feb 2004 10:43 |
The Junction is a great pub, with a great atmosphere most of the time. The only problem is that a pint nights attract all the Kev's looking for a fight and putting rubbish dance music on the jukebox. Other than that its easily the best place in Harrow.
Jimbo - 16 Feb 2004 14:38 |
full of grebos. bar staff serve regulars first regardless of who is waiting. i live a two minute walk from there and i still cant be bothered to make the effort. great if youre a child and into `nu metal`
MrShankly - 25 Dec 2003 16:34 |
I love the place. Seriously. Its got a cult following. Far more character than any of the other pubs in Harrow. Well worth a look. a pint tuesdays 7.30 onwards. see ya there.
Andy Deans - 30 Nov 2003 01:46 |
Kiddie Pub of Harrow, drinks cost a bomb, and crammed to the rafters at weekends.
Gav - 26 Nov 2003 14:59 |
Regulars don't get ID'd. They are mostly 16 and 17. I'm 20 and get ID'd every time I go. It is always packed in there, very few bar staff and expensive drink. Don't dress up if you are going there, you will look out of place. If you haven't washed for a couple of days and you are looking a bit rough, this is the place to go. Student pub.
psmyylie - 24 Sep 2003 20:15 |
Whoever made the comment about being stared at if you are different. I'm over 50 years old, and yes, they all stared at me. Thank God my kids are older than most of the clientel. They are 16!
|
great pub good music nice birds and ok price boo's .
go and if u see some one in a sunderland top shake my hand and buy me a drink
John Walton - 8 Aug 2003 16:10 |
its used to be great in early 2002, pretty relaxed atmosphere, interesting people, but recently its always way to busy, music has turned really cack and its bloody expensive.
|
this is where the 'alternative' ppl hang out and give out about 'townies' and moan about being catagorised and who the rest of the narrow minded world lables them into groups.Everyone trys to look 'individual' but they all look the same!!!!! they talk about narrow mindedness but if you look different to them you are likly to be stared at
karen - 6 Aug 2003 23:49 |
More bar staff would be nice, and getting rid of the shite video jukebox and replacing it with one of the standard variety wouldn't be bad either. Beer isn't too bad, some cute student girls too. But it hardly sets the world on fire. Harrow needs a really good bar so badly it hurts.
Meister - 5 Aug 2003 16:45 |
the junction is great if you get there early enough to get a seat or in summer when the beer garden is the best in harrow...lots of alternative ppl and cheap beer :) i love it!!
fran - 29 May 2003 14:14 |
He is a tip for management; hire a) more bar staff b) bar staff who have a clue what they are doing, or c) both. Other than that it's pretty good.
MP - 25 Apr 2003 22:29 |
Spent some great times there while in Harrow - Some champion bloke sung "Land Down Under" for us during kareoke (Im from Perth). All in all a good joint - Id kill for a place like that here in Oz
Eamonn Foley - 21 Apr 2003 13:37 |
One of the most popular pubs in Harrow, now with a late license till 1am on friday, saturday and even on 1 per pint thursday! Laid back crowd with various music, often alternative. However trying to get a seat or served at the bar is a mission at times.
Mr.KGB - 19 Mar 2003 16:59 |
it is the best pub on earth!!!!
Sophie, Lizzi , Erica - 6 Nov 2002 12:50 |
The best pub I have been to in recent times...it's relaxed, with every taste catered to and just generally a fab place to chill in the evening. Usually it's thankfully a townie-free zone where Korn, Greenday and System of a Down rule the jukebox. Certainly not the dingy dive that people make out, as a regular I've spent a great summer either sprawled out on the ubercomfy red sofa or sat watching the world go by outside. The bouncers are always courteous and it's a hassle-free evening. Everyone is out for a good night and because they're on the whole friendly and fun to be around, they usually succeed. The Junction Rocks!
