Shame that this has gone as ideal Badger pub for the station. There does not seem to be many options to replace it. Any suggestions as to the best bet nearby now that it has gone ?

Blasphamy!! a pub named after HMS VICTORY in Southampton is not right! still useful for a quick pint when waiting for a connecting train at Southampton Central... across the carpark!

wow I was not through the door a second when a frienly (large chap) behind the bar asked how i was. this place is all about the customer and the ale is perfect. i pass this way once a week and will make it a regular watering hole

Excellent food, friendly staff, well kept beer. Could do with some new bar stools, but much better than the other pubs in the area.

Agree with Jono, walk into town - it's only 5 minutes away.

Convenient only for its proximity to the station. Can't think of any other reason for drinking there.
