The Herbert Chapman is now closed and for sale as whatever so it may cease to be a pub.

Im not sure what to say about this pub; maybe I should start with the nutter who walked out and then tried to talk to me in jabbing motions through the open window whilst singing in Gaelic. Or maybe I should start with the barmaid who took ten minutes to pour half a Guinness because Ive not served any for a while. Yes the hardy Guinness was rank and yes I was glad to escape.
The Sky and the pool table are the only things going for this place and I personally would save this place for match days when you just want a pint from anywhere.

No real ale on today, but otherwise as described by others before.

This is only good for watching matches if your an Arsenal supporter. The place has nothing else to offer.

Has changed it's name now to The Herbert Chapman because of the new Arsenal Stadium nearby. No seats at all, at least on match days all standing. Pretty horrible inside and all there screens were off which is strange since there was football on. Nice to stand outside on the pavement and is easy for the football.

Hi all, i've moved away from london some time ago, was this pub once named THE PRINCE OF WALES ??
|
Been drinking there while it was the Hobgoblin. Still one of the best pubs on the "dodgy end" of Holloway. Friendly people and staff. Jukebox has now gone though and beware Arsenal fans taking over during over home games. Very mixed crowd from all over the world and then some.

surprisingly pleasant pub on the dodgy old holloway road. very clean, comfy seating, the usual fireplace and big screen sports TV - but best of all well trained staff with a wicked sense of humour - which is why the bar stools are the most coveted seats in the house. the new food menu actually delivers, and sizeable portions of classic british dishes keep bums on sofas and spirits high.

Changed names - its now The Study

recently changed management and it shows. they've scrubbed & polished everything, introduced a new food menu with exclusively home-made dishes, mostly classic choices like pie, sausage & mash and sunday roast. the music is still a good mix of indie and alternative rock. like it.

This is a very interesting little pub, hidden just by the Holloway Road rail bridge. It's a Wychwood Brewery pub, making it one of the few places to sell Wychwood ales, which are a creditable alternative to Fullers and Youngs. The clientele is indeed very diverse, but very friendly: the bouncer is seemingly only there because his mates drink there. I can also second the quality of the jukebox.

This is my favorite pub on the Holloway Road by quite a distance. Has a really good juke box if you like rock or indie music, and a big screen for sports events. quite a diverse clientel as well.
