Not impressed. Rang to book table in advance, as am disabled, to check facilities and explain what was needed. Rang on morning of booking and double confirmed all in place. Arrived in evening and nothing appeared known about the booking. Eventually made ourselves understood and a table reluctantly sourced and reserved. However, debit card asked for in advance to create a tab (not mentioned when booking) and had to move from the table to the tills to create, as machines were fixed to the tills. Explained then that I was on the understanding this was a disabled friendly restaurant, which is certainly not the case. Orders eventually taken at table, but food when arriving was very bland. Pate was obviously from a packet and the salad was limp. Camembert bites had been double fried. Steaks were OK but nothing special. Desserts were again bland. Drinks and wine faultless and price was in keeping with quality of food. Disabled toilet facilities good but marred by soaking wet floor - even though I was warned in advance. Wouldn't be in a hurry to go again. Was good in the 80s but still stuck there

Yet again an entry must be reported as hardly being a pub. This is a restaurant, part of a chain, which happens to serve drinks.

You're shown to a table but you have to go back to the bar even to get a drink, let alone to order some food. Service at table is restricted to clearance of plates and orders for desserts, and yes, maybe a repeat order for drinks.

Be aware of what you're accepting. But it may be just what you wanted!

Went on Friday night 23/10/09 and the place was only a quarter full. Excellent service which you'd expect with so few people there.
Food was hot and as good as it can be in these places.
Good selection of lagers but only Tetley's bitter. Wine was very reasonable and prices in general were average.
I'd certainly go again.

was in here Saturday for a meal with family, more a restaurant than a pub,but saying that the food and service were okay, and the guiness was fine, just about what you'ed expect fron this sort of place

Lovely grounds and surroundings, and the food's fine but your usual Brewers' Fayre fodder. Only worth going on a weekday when they have two meals for a tenner offer.

Absolutely no good beers whatsoever, but a "great" selection of lagers if that's your thing.

The parkland location is lovely. But the service, decor and range of beers are not so good.

One of the strangest establishments I have ever been in, I will give it a miss in the future, nothing else to say.

TIP: order food but then get drinks from the bar or you will wait forever for drinks. the drinks just sit there while the waiters/resses just faf around, i could do a better job of hiring semi intelligent people!

With nice surroundings, this is a decent place to visit in the summer for a drink or two in the sunshine, but as already stated, this pubs main purpose is to cater for those wanting a bite to eat.

Bloody awful. I used to live 50 yards from this place, but would still go to The Alma, since they actually serve alcohol there. If I wanted to go to a place where the children outnumber the adults I'd drink in school.

Friendly place, serves large menu (think the pub's mainly intended for food), got surrounding parks and the such, nice in summer. Try having a picnic or a kickabout outside then go in for a pint in summer, good place for that.
