Gastropub with a good beer selection. Nothing remarkable and fine if you're in the area.

Faded gastro-music type pub next to Westbourne Park tube station.
They had two ales on and the Trueman's Runner was a drinkable enough pint. Okay if you're in the vicinity.

This Pub started out good, but if your looking for good service and hot food this may not be the place.
My appetiser came out last, after we had finished our main meals. Chips were served cold.
Then to top it off they 'lost' my credit card I had put behind the bar. Most likely due to the state they were in - both drinking on the job.

I disagree with the recent comments; I think it's one of the best pubs I've been to in a while. I work round the corner, so am in there fairly regularly, but ever since my first visit, I've felt comfortable and welcome in there.

The bar staff are friendly are helpful, the food is tasty and the atmosphere is good, but the music can sometimes be a bit too loud...

I love spending time there...

This place has officially gone to the dogs. It used to be a reliable place to go in this part of town, really good crowd, and a brilliant choice to end your weekend on a Sunday. Well my last visit has turned me off forever. An extremely weird crowd has now taken over, and the food we ordered all pretty much got returned (the BLTs had thick wads of butter, and I mean really thick), but was questioned by the manager as if we'd done something wrong, just by looking at it you could tell it was revolting.

Such as shame as I used to regularly head along here and had many a good night.

Wooden Hand Brewerys Cornish Buccaneer was the only ale on during my visit leaving the other two pumps unused. Addlestone Cider, Amstel, Grolsch, Heineken and Kronenburg are also available, but I plumped for the Guinness as I didnt spot anyone else drinking the ale. The barmaid was ok, but I found the scuffed gastro dcor a bit depressing and would have sat outside in the nice seating area if it was a little warmer.

I wouldnt bother going here again if passing.

Not a bad little pub, but i did go in on a Tuesday afternoon when it was pretty quiet. Very convenient with it being right next to the underground station.
I thought there was some quiz going on with the clipboards on the table, but they were the menus, i did get a bit confused until i looked at what was attached to the clipboard. Oops!
Friendly staff - I didnt drink much so cant comment on that right now, but i will have to pop back and leave a rating of the drinks another time

Thoroughly good place to go to of a lunchtime. I like the idea of the advertised buskers, though I didn't hear them so I can't comment on what they're like. The draft beer was in bangin' condition and the little garden out the back was a real suntrap on a pleasant spring day. This place is pleasingly harmonious with the Hammersmith and City line station next door.

Quite a bit happening here music wise at the mo: open mic on Tues, live music nights, DJs on Fris and Suns. Only one real ale on at present (which revolves) and sensitive souls need to know that it's three quid a pint. Roasts and fish and chips got the thumbs up also and the service was friendly and efficient.

I used to drink here on and off 10 years ago when it was run by Middlesborough Dave, your typical fat northern landlord - good lad and liked his drink. The last time I drank here I had a fight with a pissed-up bus driver from the depot over the road. It's been done up since to cater for the local media-whores and is soul-sapping and dull. My friend was barred for smoking 2 feet away from the bar. Or maybe because he didn't have a trust fund, I don't know. I'd sooner take my chances with pissed bus drivers than suffer drinking here these days.

Dispicable hellhole populated by . . . Oh I can't be bothered anymore. The same as the Grand Union, The Cow and every bloody where else . . .

This pub is no great shakes but it's a damn sight better than the Grand Union down the road. at least it has some decent beers on and plays good music. That said it's not a place I'd go out of my way to return to.

This bar recently (last couple of years) underwent a makeover to try and turn it from a scary but sleepy old man's pub into a trendy bar. They haven't quite got it right though, as the clientele either fancy themselves (someone has to) or look like they want to mug you with their walking sticks! It is bearable in the summer because you can sit in the beer garden outside and the food there is apparently also quite nice.

If you fancy a drink in this area, turn left rather than right out of Westbourne Park station and try the Grand Union.

West london Super Sundays, sir? Party over here. Alcoholic, floor smashing veal crate vibe. Heinekens once again, establish a forward OP at the bar, remember bar staff hate weakness, don't let them piss on you. Stacked full of trash hats and quite fit girls, who wins, you decide.

Got utterly booted in here and loved it. Lost my phone which hasn't been recovered, which took the edge off of it a little.
Fabulous chicks on the right side of the bar.

makes a change from the uber-trendy cow and westbourne. the beer garden is suprisingly secluded, staff friendly, and the red stripe goes down very well

this has to be the friendliest and coolest pub in the area. Now they have even opened a huge restaurant upstairs. It has a private dining room and a roof terrace both of which I've dined in and on both occasions the whole experience has been first class!!
natalie - 16 May 2004 19:47
Best pub in the area (and that's saying something!). Forget the barmaids ladies - Nick the landlord is gorgeous!
Karly - 22 Mar 2004 16:19
best pub in west london and sunday night rocks - but very trendy. chicks behind the bar are unbelievable. dont plan a quiet drink down there though as you will end on staying very late.
aaronf - 13 Jan 2004 17:13
Great little bar on the edges of Notting Hill area attracting an interesting mix of locals, ultra-trendy folk, and the surprised looking people who keep forgetting it's not the old man's pub it was a year ago. Biggest night is Sunday which in summer sees people spilled all over the beer garden and onto the street while the DJ keeps the dancing going inside and the chef cleans up the outdoor bbq from lunch. Things are a bit quieter in winter but there's not usually much room to move inside on a Sunday night. Barmaids are also beyond reproach.
