Place showed promise when some lady looking like cruella devill took over now some short dark haired bloke abit like manuel from faulty towers he seems to work like him as well.
Thursday are dead waste of time Fridays seem to work downstairs but then you see manuel walking round trying to get people to the shoebox upstairs Saturdays the bands are very hit and miss
Happy Hour is the wrong times
Is a good place to watch the football nothing like the old oneills though no snacks at half time

Hit and miss staff - party atmosphere on a Friday. Club upstairs is a state.

Actually a good night out to be had here. Was giving up having visited the Doctor Tonic and The Cork, Nightclub is dire - decent music downstairs on a Friday night, hit and miss bands on Saturdays.

I've been in WGC for nearly 4 years, and ventured in here for the first time last week.
It has to be one of the grimmest places on earth. The bar looks like it was built by MFI in 1979, and the staff were obnoxious. The beer was dreadful, and the gents loo is actually visible from the bar - I imagine that this is classed as a selling point by the clientele, who resembled the extras from Shaun of the Dead.
I've often wondered why The Cork & The Doctors Tonic have never really made an effort - but with competition like this, why would they?

spending my money*

Terrible. Full of chavs. The club at the side is free until 10.30 but no one is in there at that time so you end up paying a fiver to dance around a sticky shoebox with a bunch of UGLY people covered in sick. Hate the place and instantly regret spending my mum in there everytime i go.

Near me. Sadly, even grimmer and worse beer than The Cork!

No real ale on sale, so settled for a pint of guinness on a recent visit, it was vile. Left half of it, and bought a pint of Tetleys. . this too was barely drinkable. God only knows what they do to their pints. Went to the Gents and found three chavs snorting coke off the toilet roll dispenser. To be fair, the bouncers did chuck them out but it says something about the kind of clientele you can expect.

Agree totally with previous post.

The Parkway Tavern is on the ground floor and is a souless bar with no real ale. There is some furniture scattered around the walls, and a large vertical drinking area for under 25's.Quite a few derelicts hang out here but you may be able to pull a dodgy boiler when its busy. The outside door to one side leads to Club 67 with free entry until 10.30pm.These two bars define the word dive ,this is chav central.
|
Now called the parkway tavern and with a new landlord and landlady. Still chavvy.
|
Often a lot of fights and bottles/glasses smashed over people. Best avoided.

Not to be confused with the ONeills chain, this place is owned by people called ONeill! Just off the town centre. Irish themed and sometimes quite rowdy but a good time can be had there. Upstairs disco probably can get a bit hairy.

Can be good, Can also be very bad. Just depends on the night and who's down there. Drinks are on the average side for price.
