After an aborted visit to the Bell Inn at Coleby (closed on a Monday & Tuesday and very limited opening hours for the rest of the week and not listed on this site), we went instead to the Thorold Arms instead. This is a lovely little pub set in a small village. The exterior is decorated with all sorts of plants and other odds and sods. Inside, there is a public bar and a separate dining room. The range of beers was good - Mallards Specducular, Blue Monkey BG Sips, Potbelly Streaky & Slaters Golden. There was also a real cider - Ross on Wye Medium Dry. Impressive pub.

Another visit to this excellent establishment. The beer festival was top, all nice hoppy beers, no malty kak. The food was top notch.

An absolute top establishment with the beer in excellent condition. A welcome break after getting 3rd degree sunburn at Waddington Airshow.

The Pub is now Camera East midlands Pub of the Year

The Thorold Arms is a real refreshing change from other pubs that all seem the same. Very cosy, great food, and friendly locals. and totally NONE SMOKING

This pub is very friendly serves a good variety of real ale. The food is very nice and seperate from the bar, the menu is not massive but I can assure you what is there is lovely. I have introduced the Landlady to this website she did not know she was on it.
All the best Shane

Cosy village pub serving 'real ale' and homecooked food. Great friendly atmosphere and a warm log fire in the winter.
